Lake Jocassee House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps Max 6 Adults)

This recently constructed, beautiful 1600 square foot home was built sparing no expense.

Elegant without pretense, this home features wormy oak floors throughout. The cabinetry in the kitchen is custom made from antique heart pine and walnut. The countertops are solid granite throughout. The home was built to be LEED certified and is extremely comfortable and efficient. Reclaimed materials and antiques were used throughout. From the antique light fixtures to the original Morris chair in the bedroom, this home exudes functional elegance. Built as a caretaker's residence for The Jocassee Sanctuary, (see website - thejocasseeclub dot com) the home was constructed with the intent to provide the comforts of a home with the look and feel of a mountain cabin getaway.

The home features a detached office/laundry that boasts it's own full bath including a marble tiled shower, covered porch, flat screen TV and mini bar. A great place for the kid's to hang out or simply used as another sleeping area. The home is nestled in the mountain situated on the back of a waterfront lot and a short walk from the waterfront. About The Owner

Hi, my name is Bill, long time resident on Lake Jocassee. We are proud to be able to offer this fine home for your vacation and glad you have chosen to spend some time on Lake Jocassee and this beautiful part of our country.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Why The Owner chose Lake Jocassee

We have owned a home on Lake Jocassee for over 20 years. When we had the opportunity to purchase more of the extremely rare land, we jumped at the chance. Originally constructed as the full time residence for a live in caretaker for The Jocassee Club, (see website - thejocasseeclub). The home is now available for rental to those who know the special magic surrounding Lake Jocassee. Lake Jocassee is known by some as the Lake Tahoe of the East. With its crystal clear waters and thousands of acres of protected land, there is nowhere else that has the same magic as Lake Jocassee.

What makes this house unique

Quiet, solitude and togetherness are often the things in our hectic world that truly rejuvenate and draws us closer together. Lake Jocassee offers that in spades, but what we really like about Jocassee Haven is that due to the location of the home on the lot, we never hear lake noise on the few days of the year even when many boaters are out. It is that sense of being enveloped in the mountains and away from it all that makes us love Lake Jocassee so very much and especially a stay in Jocassee Haven.

Week Long Stay at Jocassee Haven

  • of 5
My wife and I stayed at this house for a week, and we very much enjoyed our stay. The location is in a neat and rare nook at Lake Jocassee, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, and we were just a short drive from a number of trails and waterfalls like whitewater falls and Rainbow Falls.

Pros: The house has a nice feel. Loft, comfy beds, oak floors, granite counters, nice deck to sip your coffee. It is quiet and peaceful. The house has its own dock with a ton of space on it to enjoy the view of the water, go fishing, or do whatever.

Cons: Our stay would have been much better with the addition of two simple amenities: Internet, and a canoe. There is no internet at this place, and barely any cell phone reception. The dock is nice to hang out at, but it would have been nice to have some way to get around the lake. All of the other houses for rent on the lake appear to have some sort of boat provided. Additionally, it has been mentioned in other posts, but there is no lake view from the house, and the walk to the dock is pretty far.

Overall, we had a good stay.

Perfect Lake Vacation

  • 5 of 5
This place was amazing. Lake Jocassee was beautiful--this cabin was the perfect spot to stay. The boat dock was so nice to have. The cabin is in great condition and contained everything we needed for a great trip. There's just nothing that could make this spot any better! Be sure to get a map so you can enjoy all the great waterfalls. Lake Jocassee is such hidden gem and we had the whole lake to ourselves all week. Thanks!

Jocassee Haven Vacation

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at Jocassee Haven was GREAT! The house has a rustic look but everything in house is top quality. They provided everything you would need for kitchen except food :-)
We loved having the private dock with the sun deck on top. It's a short walk to the lake/dock but it was not as bad as I expected considering the terrain at Lake Jocassee. I would highly recommend this place. Only drawback is that there are only 2 queen beds and rest of sleeping is on sofa beds. Sofa beds are fine for kids or for a few nights for adults but a week on the sofa beds for adults might be rough.

Jocassee Haven August 2014

  • of 5
My husband, our two children, ages 21 and 24, and I absolutely loved our visit at the Jocassee Haven. The house was a dream, very well kept and clean. The privacy was just what we needed for a peaceful vacation. Whether we were hanging out on the dock, going for long walks, exploring the lake, or simply resting inside the house, our trip was extremely enjoyable. Thanks to everyone who makes this home inviting and feel like home away from home.

Great House. Beautiful Woodwork.

  • 4 of 5
We had a great vacation at Jocassee Haven. No one wanted to leave. The house was very comfortable for us. It was a hike to the dock, but we all agreed we could use the exercise. Just a little steep. The only thing negative I have to say about Jocassee Haven is that it did not have a lake view. It was a very quiet place to stay and we were able to take my daughter's little Pomerania dog. Had a great time!
