A Haven

The location of the house couldn't have been better. Atop a hill with a wonderful view of the mountains, day and night. The home is even better than the photos.....comfortable furnished, lots of light, high ceilings, three patio areas, a large garage, immaculate. In a quiet neighborhood, convenient to everything. All the shops I wanted were within 5 miles! Only a half hour to the beach, a little longer to the mountains and desert. I especially loved dining and reading out on the kitchen patio, watching the hummingsbirds at the geraniums, the many birds at the feeder and the rabbits on the lawn at dusk and dawn. I even heard coyotes singing at night nearby. It is an idyllic place to vacation. I'd recommend the Cafe Merlot at the Rancho Bernardo Winery (just down the street) and Veranda at the Rancho Bernardo Inn for lovely outdoor dining. Las Olas restaurant by the sea in Cardiff. The Cardiff State Beach.....good parking, great beach. Paon Restaurant in Carlsbad. Chin's Restaurant in Rancho Bernardo.....some of the best Chinese food I've eaten. LaJolla's only a short drive. Dine at The Cottage for breakfast and lunch. In the city, don't miss the Hotel Coronado, all the museums in Balboa Park, the waterfront, the Cabrillo Monument, the Hillcrest neighborhood for art films, interesting shops, restaurants. Rest, relax, enjoy! I did.
