The friendly security staff directs you to proceed, and in the distance you can see the beautiful antebellum manor house on a hill, with a lake sparkling beside it. Welcome to Kenmure, one of the most desirable Golf communities, in one of the most desirable areas of North Carolina! Flat Rock was the summer mountain retreat of wealthy planters from Charleston in the antebellum era. And Hendersonville, nearby, will remind you of "Mayberry USA" from a bygone era.
As you make the turns to head up the mountain, higher and higher you climb, then you go through a private tunnel, and finally turn onto Chancery Court. Our house is nestled into the hill straight ahead of you. You press the remote and the garage door opens, beckoning you to enter.
This beautiful single-family home is located in the Cottages area and features two spacious bedrooms, three baths and a comfortable sleeper sofa in the den. The den also has a flat panel TV and blue ray. The den and upstairs hall bath may be closed off to form another suite.
The master bedroom is located on the main level and has a king-size bed, walk-in custom closet and access to the screen porch. The master bath features dual vanities, soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. The cozy den features a queen size sleeper sofa which folds out into a comfortable platform bed.
There is a formal dining room, and the fully equipped gourmet kitchen is warm and inviting and features a double oven gas stove, eat-in breakfast area, and opens onto the great room. There are hardwood floors throughout the main living area.
Downstairs, you'll find the second bedroom with a queen-size bed, a second bathroom, and a spacious family room with a wet bar and large flat screen television. There is also a fully equipped laundry in the utility room, and there is wireless high speed Internet throughout.
A double level deck with restful views high in the trees overlooking a stream completes your mountain get-away!
You'll also enjoy complimentary access to the Kenmure Country Club indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts (both hard and soft) and 3400 square foot fitness center. There are several dining options at the mansion, both formal and informal. Dine al fresco in season! Golf may also be played on our par 72, bent grass course (voted one of the "Top 50" by GolfWeek) for a greens fee/cart fee.
If you like nature, we are about 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and about 30 minutes from numerous mountain lakes like Lake Jocassee. The beautiful NC state Arboretum is about 15 minutes away. Connemara, the home of Carl Sandburg, is only 5 minutes away. It features a lake, hiking trails, and concerts in the summer.
Asheville, consistently rated one of the top destinations in the entire country, is about 30 minutes north, with its galleries, shops and many restaurants. The incomparable Biltmore Estate of the Vanderbilts is there, breathtaking in its splendor! And the Flat Rock Playhouse, the state theatre of North Carolina, is literally a stone's throw from the front gates.
