Bienvenidos! Welcome to Casa de Las Tortugas! From the moment you reach the newly built, fully enclosed hacienda-style property with its palm trees, pool, and manicured landscape, to the instant the view of the crystal-blue Sea of Cortez takes your breath away, you'll know you chose the perfect place to spend quality time in style with family and friends.
Relax and enjoy Casa de Las Tortugas, a beautiful beachfront home located on the white sandy beach of the Sea of Cortez in Baja California, Sur. Constructed in the traditional Mexican hacienda style, the home has large outdoor living areas where you can experience spectacular sunrises over the Sea of Cortez, as well as beautiful mountain sunsets, and enjoy calm tranquility and starry skies in the evening.
The hacienda-style villa was built a few of years ago, and the addition of a casita and out door living space was added in 2009. It has the distinction of being one of only a few oceanfront properties in Los Barriles with a pool. It is located approximately 2 miles north of town and only an hours' drive north of the Los Cabos Airport.
The property is a private, three-bedroom three-bath vacation villa that is fully furnished, on the beach and is perfect for families, friends, and couples. The main house has two-bedrooms each with a king or queen bed and large attached bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, and fabulous out door living spaces. The new addition of a separate beautiful casita, has a king bed and bathroom. There are amazing ocean views from every window.
Dont miss early morning sightings of Humpback and Gray Whales as they pass by the property. Schools of porpoise offer kayakers the thrills of paddling along side the curious creatures. Bat rays leap and attempt flight all day long, and pop like corn in the evenings. Marlin, Dorado, Sailfish and many species offer fishermen of all types endless enjoyment. And, if you are lucky enough to visit during the birthing season of turtles, you may witness one of the most spectacular wonders of wildlife.
Located on the East Cape of the beautiful Baja Peninsula, this laid out pad is your base camp for recreation options including: wind surfing, kite boarding, snorkeling, fly and deep-sea fishing, beach combing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, and more. Miles of unspoiled sandy beaches are waiting for sedate vacationers, who will find themselves in a quiet community close to shopping, dining and tours. Whether you're in need of an epic adventure or a stress-free chance to relax and regroup, this is your opportunity to reward yourself with a memorable Mexican vacation you'll want to return to year after year. We loved our stay at Casa de Las Tortugas! We have stayed at other LB beachfront homes, and this house was our favorite so far... the house has everything you would want/need, and Kristin is really easy to work with, and was responsive to all of our needs. We visited with our family of 4 and my mom, and the detached casita was a nice spot for Gramma to get away :) The beach was great, especially with the kayaks, snorkels and other toys that they provided in the great gear garage. We will surely be back to LB and this house again!
As I am looking out my window this Christmas with blowing snow and wintery weather, my mind wanders back to the perfect sunrises we saw last July from this beautiful home . . . oh how I miss this! This perfect, peaceful get away is truly a piece of paradise!. My husband and I traveled to Los Barriles last July with his brother and sister in law and another cousin. We enjoyed ten days (too short!) of relaxation at this beautiful home. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and spent many hours just looking at the ocean, enjoying the beautiful pool, and playing with the kayaks and paddle boards.
This was our first trip to the Cabo/Los Barriles area and we found it to be a quiet, safe, and beautiful place. We spent many hours exploring the surrounding areas, meeting wonderful people, and eating fabulous, authentic Mexican foods. The locals are friendly and courteous - we can't say enough about this place except we can't wait to return!
The owners were very helpful as we planned this trip - all information was accurate and carefully detailed to ensure a comfortable stay. Ten days wasn't nearly long enough - I could have stayed all summer!
This is paradise, indeed! My husband, two kids (6 yrs & 2 yrs old), two friends, and I stayed in Casa de las Tortugas for 5 days. Words cannot describe how much fun we had and we cannot wait to come back! The owners are superb! They provided excellent information re: the house, Los Barriles, local restaurants, and all the activities in town. The house is very well-kept. Kitchen is stocked and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The rooms have A/Cs and are very clean & comfortable. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and beach. We caught a bunch of trigger fish off the beach and made awesome ceviche out of 'em! We rented ATVs from CanDoo and we drove up the coast to chase rooster fish. We also enjoyed the town's restaurants like El Viejo and La Fogata. We would definitely highly recommend Casa de las Tortugas for your next family vacation.
Our heartfelt THANK YOU to Kristin and Family for letting us to stay at their beautiful home! Hasta la vista! :)
Our family of 5, 3 teens ages 15,16,19, stayed at this beautiful home for one week in June. From the moment we arrived in Los Barriles, I knew I made the right decision. My husband and I have been going to cabo san lucas since 1993. We love the fishing and the atmosphere, but the growth into a party town, and malls, and crowds made us yearn for the earlier days when the only national chain cabo had was a baskin robbins icecream...
We decided to venture up the east cape, for a more authentic experience, with excellent fishing, as everyone is a fisherman. This vacation fit the bill perfectly. The town was authentic, no chains or malls, but had plenty of places to eat, grocery shop, etc. You had everything you needed less than 10 minutes from the house.
The house, amazing....Stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our week. We cooked meals, made drinks, fished from shore (we left a spinning real my hubby bought for you, added to your collection!) enjoyed the pool and beach, etc. Great fishing was had 2 days by the boys, they booked your recommended fishing service with Israel, and caught, a large rooster fish, dorado, a large jack craval, and almost a huge bull dolphin!! Then we booked a large boat through East cape tackle shop in town. Cindy was a great help and hooked us up with captain Dean and we hooked up to 10 marlin, and caught and released 3.
Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We would love to return in the future!
This is a beautiful setting with great views---the house is wonderful, luxurious, comfortable, very clean and well decorated and maintained. Owners are great to work with. We really enjoyed the kayaking--didn't even have to snorkel to see hundreds of beautiful fish right underneath us. Felt very safe in the area. Had great food in town--easy to cook "at home" if you like. We will definitely be back!
We had an amazing time at Casa de las Tortugas! Kristen was great to work with, from the moment we booked, with all of our irritating questions. The house was easy to find and the neighbors are charming and helpful. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee watching for whales and seals and our evenings star gazing out by the sea wall. The paddle board and kayaks were perfect for relaxing on the water and interacting with sea creatures. We took day trips to Todos Santos and Punta Pescadero (twice) and loved it all! The house was PERFECT for the three couples that made up our group, but it would also be perfect for a family. We loved the town and its great little restaurants. The people were so friendly! We also enjoyed having Norma come in and cook for us. She was the sweetest lady and had an amazing spread every time. We can't wait to go back!!
Kiteboarding, Swimming with Dolphins, Whale-watching, Sea kayaking, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), sunrise and sunset viewing at it's finest!
