Two distinct but charming accommodations: A casual 1 bedroom Garden Cottage and a 3 bedroom Rainbow House. Landscaped to assure privacy, both vacation rentals share the same landscape of coco palms, limes, oranges, avocado, breadfruit papayas, and other tropical ornamentals. Garden Cottage ...A rustic retreat, the Garden Cottage is a small but charming two room plantation green cottage with white trim that sleeps two. A great honeymoon retreat. Rustic in its simplicity, this cottage was designed in the single wall construction popular during the 1930's and which has been lovingly restored. A lanai covers both sides of the cottage. Rainbow House ...in contrast to our 'Garden Cottage', is a luxurious colorful three bedroom tropical vacation rental, capable of sleeping up to six, with all the amenities you would want or expect. Rainbow House is built in the old style of 'board and batten' and on stilts; graced with high ceilings to keep the days cool.

We are a moments away from some great hiking, beach combing, snorkeling, surfing, and mellow river kayaking.. We are sandwiched between mountains that continually sport waterfalls and the emerald bay of Hanalei. The town of Hanalei with its curio shops and restaurants is just a walk way. Hanalei and the surrounding environment is classic scenery that rivals any that you will see in Hawaii or in the South Pacific. During your stay you could focus on the Hanalei North Shore area and find a reason not to leave.

Rainbow House es muy ONO!!

Set in an ideal location - saying it's a short walk to the beach and town (and the Saturday Farmer's Market!!) is an understatement - The Rainbow House was just perfect!

The house is more than spacious with an excellent layout (bedrooms in the corners - large central common area). The bedroom we chose (west side of the house) was more than big enough with a very comfy bed. The bathroom right across the hall (with the yellow tile floor) had a great shower and was bigger than both the bathrooms put together in my own home. The living room holds two incredibly comfortable sofas large enough for two people to stretch out on at the same time. The dining area (as part of the great, central room) has a table that invited hours on hours of great conversation. The kitchen offered plenty of room for multiple people preparing food at one time. The lanai was perfectly situated and shaded for lounging at all times of the day.

Accommodations were simple (no large screen tv, but who needs that?!), clean and exceedingly well maintained (the beautiful floors and stairs never made a single creak!).

Communication with the owner was so open and comfortable I was disappointed we weren't able to meet during our trip.

I would undoubtedly recommend Rainbow House to other people and will more than readily stay again should I ever find myself back visiting Kauai.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
