The reality of San Clemente, like all old Southern California beach communities was designed with an alley system that stretches from North to South. If you walk two minutes around the corner to the beach, but are not sure of the idea of an alley, (even safe ones like ours), you probably will want the newer part of town. (Let's face it.... alleys are meant to be functional)
That choice will not have an enclosed garage, will be further from the sand and you'll pay PREMIUM PRICES for a 'TYPICAL-WELL USED' and SPARSE vacation rental with little charm

We are continuously updating, replacing, adding to make our little apartment VERY comfortable for our guests. We appreciate our guests and we listen to what they say.
We had a previous guest who advised us that a really comfy chair would be a great addition to the sectional sofa in living room. We purchased a brand new recliner to add even more comfortable seating.
Another guest recommended that another window (to bring in extra light )would be great. Within the week we added a window in our Dutch door. It is perfect!!
We have a GREAT team that does an EXCELLENT job cleaning, managing, and making quick repairs when needed.
My husband and I are very hands on with the maintenance and upkeep on our building.
Our upstairs unit 173237 is really special as well. We LOVE this special little place of ours!

Our downstairs retreat has french doors which lead you into cozy master bedroom retreat. Mirrored night tables, recessed lighting, ceiling fans, leather padded queen bed with down comforter and high end bedding. A very peaceful retreat that is very comfortable and quiet. New Serta queen bed, TV w/ remote.
The ceiling fan in living room, the fireplace, and flat screen TV work off of separate remote controls for your convenience. YOU NEVER HAVE TO LEAVE THE COUCH!

My husband and I have lived in San Clemente for years and love the small town feel our 'little village by the sea' offers to all who are fortunate to visit it. The town offers a friendly atmosphere, great restaurants and outdoor cafes, beautiful scenery, an actual downtown (Del Mar Ave.), and world renowned surf spots!! Old and young love it here and share a bond of pride for our little piece of Paradise! I owned an interior design firm for years in town and my husband is a well known photographer in town. His art is shown here in town, Aspen, Sheraton Carlsbad, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Disney resorts in Anaheim. He found the ocean and beaches great inspiration for his ocean landscapes. The beauty and heartfelt friendliness make this the perfect vacation stay. But better yet, the best place to call home. Once you arrive you never want to leave!!

We bought our 1928 building with the idea of just remodeling it and using it for our own use when not traveling. We just learned that it was one of the very first homes built in San Clemente. It has a busy history. I then talked my husband into trying out VRBO to rent while we weren't in town. It took off from there and I found that I love opening up our homes to guests from all over the world. When we travel we want very nice, clean, and safe accommodations that felt like home. So we decided to offer to guests the things that we wanted and required while traveling. I think that we have succeeded......
Our garden apartment is Modern and clean! It is very unique and peaceful. You feel very safe and sequestered inside it's walls....... Our location is really great being so close to the beach, public transportation, new restaurants, THE NEW BEACH TRAIL, the 1933 CASINO AND OLE HANSON WEDDING VENUE. If you chose to skip a car, you could walk pretty much everywhere... We love it's charm. And the fact that it has all brand furnishings and appliances. New and sparkly clean!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our month of March stay was hard to leave. We have booked two months for 2015!
We loved San Clemente and our little home away from home so much that we are coming back next year. Deb and Jeff were wonderful hosts. Thank you!
We stayed here last year and enjoyed it so much we had to return! Walked to the beach everyday and loved stopping at Elle's Table on the way back! Cute place & location can't be beat! Great restaurants so close & owners are so nice & accommodating! We will return!

The was our sixth stay at this location and we had a wonderful time. The owners always keep the unit in great condition - making it feel like coming home. The rental is a quick stroll to the beach path to the pier and the train station if you want to venture to Los Angeles or San Diego while staying in this North Beach San Clemente location. Wonderful rental and wonderful location.
We had high hopes for this summer cottage and it didn't disappoint! The listing is accurate as is the location description. The alley location is a little different, but as the owners mention, if it's not for you, look someplace else. We were totally fine with it - it felt safe, it was well lit, and the location was perfect, being walking distance to little coffee shops and of course the beach! The apartment itself was well stocked and we were able to save on some meals by hitting up the local Trader Joe's - the kitchen had everything you could think of! The bed was also super comfortable, as were the couches. Our favorite part however was the outdoor patio. We had breakfast in the morning there, enjoying coffee on the comfy patio furniture was wonderful. The patio is definitely the icing on the cake and makes the apartment feel even bigger. We spent fourth of July evening at San Clemente pier. We had a blast watching the fireworks from a prime location on the beach. We look forward to visiting again!
We didn't really have too much interaction with the owners as everything we needed was always readily available, however they were great in getting back to us before and after our trip.
We adored this place. Everything from the extra huge Dutch door to the garden patio to the welcoming and warm decor was a delight. Our stay at this awesome location, location, location was one of the best we've ever experienced.
So many great places to eat within a few paces away. The beach is as close as can be with the walking trail right there too!
I can't say enough good things about this property. Highly recommend it for a San Clemente stay.
This rental was walking distance from the beach, train station, and several restaurants. Within a short drive were many more restaurants, a golf course, more beaches, and shopping (both grocery and the fun kind). Please note: the train only runs until a certain time each night, so the closeness absolutely doesn't mean you'll be hearing it at all hours. The location makes it easy to drive to LA or San Diego for a day trip as well; just plan your travel to avoid rush hour traffic and it's smooth sailing.
The condo is comfortable, and had more than enough room for my husband and myself to relax without constantly being on top of each other. Many 'extras' were waiting for us in the garage (beach blankets/umbrellas/chairs/small coolers/etc,) and having a full size washer and dryer (soap provided!) in the unit was incredibly convenient. The large fridge/full size stove/oven/grill and complete assortment of silverware/dishes/glassware made it feel like you were at home.
When we had a family emergency and needed to leave early, the owners were easy to reach, and very sympathetic.
When we booked the rental, address and access information was provided immediately, and our security deposit was also returned in a very timely fashion.
I would absolutely rent this place again if the opportunity presented itself.
We had a lovely time. Nicely decorated, clean, comfy. Location was great - just a short walk to the beach and to a wonderful café. The owners were very nice and responsive, as well.
