Villa Las Palmas Real, located on Playa Junquillal, Costa Rica, is situated on 6 acres of land only 150 meters from the beach. This 3 level 4500 sq ft luxury villa enjoys spectacular 180 degree vistas of the Pacific Ocean from wrap around balconies. In a quiet private gated estate surrounded by palm trees, this is the ideal vacation spot for relaxing and getting away from it all. Our 4-bedroom villa will comfortably accommodate a family of ten. It's also perfect for 3 or4 couples traveling together, or as a romantic and extra-spacious getaway for 2. There are three public beaches and a fresh water estuary within easy walking distance. There is a good selection of restaurants. During the day, you can see monkeys and a wide variety of birds near the house. At night, you can see Leatherback and Ridley Turtles nesting. Occasionally, you can see the spouts of Humpback whales from the deck. National Parks are a short drive. This custom luxury vacation home was built to California standards.

There are 3 public beaches within easy walking distance. Playa Venado which is directly in front of the house and about one-mile long is an easy 3- 4 min. walk. We enjoy walking to the estuary on this beach each morning and evening. There is also a rocky area that provides great rock pool exploration and small pools for playing. It is a great beach for swimming or surfing. Playa Honda about a 5 min. walk away, more of a cove than a beach is about 200 yds long. It is a great area for swimming. Playa Junquillal, abt 2 miles long is a 10-15 min walk. The beaches have won the coveted Bandera Azul Award for many years. There is an excellent selection of restaurants. There are monkeys and a wide variety of birds near the house. At night, you can see Leatherback and Ridley Turtles nesting. There is an active local turtle protection group that welcomes involvement. Occasionally, you can see the spouts of Humpback whales from the deck. Golfing and National Parks are a short drive.

Notes: There is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen to U.S. standards. It has granite counter-tops, a stainless steel refrigerator, an oven, a ceramic cook-top, a microwave, dishwasher, disposal, several coffee makers, juicers, a blender, ice maker etc. There is an elegant dining room with seating for eight. The custom dining table is of one piece Cenizero that was designed by Jay Morrison and the matching chairs are made of black leather and Cenizero. The living room has 2 armchairs & 2 sofas. These are also made of black leather and Cenizero and were made by Muebles Soto. The family room area has a desk, sofa and Franz leather chair and a custom designed wooden media center by Muebles Soto. There is a TV, a VCR, DVD player an ipod player and stereo. There is a large outside porch on the main level with 8 leather Costa Rican rocking chairs. On the side porch, there are 2 chairs to relax in the shade in the afternoons. There is also a large stainless steel gas grill.

This is a lovely home in which to spend vacation! I go to Costa Rica every year and stay here and have never been disappointed! The house is lovely and fully appointed with ALL the comforts of home, plus the lovely views and tranquil setting. It is a short walk to the beach, where I enjoy spending much of my time.
I am looking forward to my next trip!

We stayed at VLPR for 10 days in late July and had a fantastic time. The house, with its dramatic tropical-industrial design, is perfectly situated on a hill to catch the ocean breezes and views. Suldri was a wonderful caretaker and our boys passed many hours playing with Alan, even though they didn't share a language. The beach at Junquillal didn't produce the hoped for surf, but was fantastic for long, secluded walks; kids' boogie boarding; and bird-watching. In town, we loved the mini-super and swimming at Tatanka, where the friendly Italian owner would let us use his pool for a small fee. (His pizza was great too.) We spent time at Playa Blanca (great for kids' swimming and snorkeling at low tide) and Playa Avellanas (easy surfing and fantastic beachfront restaurant), both of which had light-colored sand and spindly trees that provided all-day shade. We had one problem with the house alarm system and the owner immediately called the CR house from the States and walked us through the solution. All in all, a highly memorable vacation and we would gladly return to VLPR.

A fabulous home and terrific get-away! Enjoyed seeing the whales off of the coast on their migration. Also, the hatching and release of the baby sea turtles on the beach just down from the house. Definitely one of the highlights of my visit.
The sunsets were amazing, the ocean was warm and lovely for swimming. Weather was ideal - warm and breezy during my week stay in 01/07.
Cannot wait to return! For me, a perfect vacation
