We had been sailing for many years in the Caribbean looking for our Island home and by accident heard about Eleuthera. This is what we had been looking for. An Island with beautiful beaches and friendly people. Off the main tourist tract. The first time we saw the water and the beautiful deserted beaches we knew we were home
Close to the United States with the Bahamian dollar on par with the US dollar. Miles of deserted beaches with gorgeous reefs and small settlements with friendly people. Lots of things to do yet off the main tourist radar. Wonderful climate that is between 70 and 85 all year round. Small restaurants, fish frys and lots of local entertainment yet it is unusual to see other people on the beaches.
