The beach house is located at 16562 South Pacific Ave. in Sunset Beach, which is a small mile-long town that is located between Seal Beach and Huntington Beach. There are 1288 year round residents. Even during summer, the beach is not crowded because public parking is very limited. This is not a problem because the beach house has an attached 2-car garage. In addition to gorgeous sunsets, a view of Catalina Island is also included! The beach house is equipped and decorated with an emphasis on comfort and warmth. The living room furniture faces the fireplace and walnut paneling while providing an incredible view of the beach and ocean through large picture windows. The separate dining room also affords its own ocean view. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. Another bedroom has two twin beds, while the third is equipped with two sets of bunk beds. A front deck includes patio chairs, tables, an umbrella and a barbecue with charcoal and tools.

Guests especially appreciate the personal touches that include M&Ms in the candy jar and a coffee maker that includes coffee! The house is spotless. The owners friendly and helpful. Sunset Beach has great beaches and wonderful sunsets! Beach it or go to Disneyland which is close. Just a great place to spend a family vacation or a quiet get away for two!! I can highly recommend this property and I travel alot!

"Sunset Beach is one of Southern California's great secrets. It is an island of tranquility in the Los Angeles basin, and centrally located for the local sights in LA and Orange County. We stayed in early March and experienced mostly sunny, clear days with outstanding views of Catalina (and even Santa Barbara Island!) on quiet beaches populated by ourselves and a few kitesurfers. Mornings were spent gazing at dolphins breeching in the surf. It doesn't get any better than this.

The house is RIGHT ON THE BEACH. You sit on the back patio or in the kitchen or living room, and you are looking out on the ocean. This is why you go to the beach, and this place delivers.

The home is a classic Orange County beach bungalow, true to the traditions of the location. You could spend two to four times as much for something more posh here or elsewhere on the beach, but why? You come here for the beach, not to live in a McMansion. Gary and Chris' house has a feel like you are in a real beach house, because it IS a real beach house. If you want to spend your time indoors with every surface covered with granite and travertine, this is not your place, but for regular folks who want to be at the beach this is heaven. Everything you need is here and the place is very clean, equipped and comfortable. We cooked our own meals most nights in the very nice kitchen. We had five adults and two small children and were very comfortable.

Good people and a great rental. You can't go wrong with this one."

The description of the property in the Home Away listing was right on the money. If anything it down played the property, The property was better than the listing had described. It was very clean and very well maintained. What my family loved was that the beach was literally right outside the door. There was every comfort of home there and we couldn"t have asked for more. I would definetly recommend this house to anyone looking to go to the each and relax and get away. We were just a car ride away from LA. We went to a Dodgers game, Universal Studios and did some sight seeing in California along with relaxing at the house.
