A Perfect Parisian Pied a Terre

This apartment is charming, splendidly situated, very compact, and a tiny bit shabby, which only adds to its charm. In classic Parisian fashion you don't, for example, run the microwave and the electric tea kettle at the same time. As you can tell by my gentle teasing, I love it dearly and return to it year after year. It has a splendid location, midway between two major produce markets (Place Monge and Maubert Mutualite), near a small supermarket and an internet cafe. It's also only just a couple of blocks from two different Metro lines and a short walk to the Seine. Take a Turkish bath at the Hammam, revel in spring flowers in the Jardin des Plantes, or wonder at the unicorn tapestries at the nearby Musee Cluny. Delightful restaurants abound and history is everywhere. You can get over your jet lag at a nearby cafe, where Didier will bring you your key and show you the ropes. And if you need more space, he has a lovely one-bedroom flat nearby.
