Bruce and I have been coming to this area for 30+ years, starting out in a tent, then to a pop-up camper. In fact, this is where we spent our honeymoon! All of our children's memories revolve around these camping trips and vacations. Now that they are grown, with children of their own, they come here to make their own memories. What I find heart warming is that they do not consider the vacation over until they have gone to all the places that they went to as children! We never tire of making the drive from Florida, and always look forward to the peace we feel as we turn onto our hill leading to Little Bear Cottage.
We chose to buy in this area because of the memories and the tradition of spending our vacations here. This area has enough attractions for all ages to keep busy, and at the same time, offers activities that are free. You can't put a price on a peaceful walk through the woods, or a picnic by a stream.
One of the benefits of staying at our property is the large yard. Many guests with children like the security of knowing the kids are not going to fall off a mountain when playing. We are also within walking distance of so many local shops, and restaurants. During the fall we are across the street from the Octoberfest activities and not far from the local farmers market.
Less than 8 miles from back entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
