This beautiful setting, once found, will be hard to leave—so comfortable is the house and so beautiful the park-like surround.
The two-story brick house in the country is only a five-minute drive to the heart of the theatre district and fine restaurants in Ashland. It sits near a meandering tree-lined stream and two rose gardens. There are numerous trees on the property including apple and pear and of course there are lots of blackberries. Beyond the stream are three acres devoted to raising grass-fed, antibiotic-free cattle.
The house has all wood floors except for one carpeted bedroom. Feather beds are available. In addition to three bedrooms and one bath, the upstairs has a 'library' area containing books and a small game table.
The fully equipped kitchen—gas stove, food processor, blender, crock pots, juicer, food mixer, ice cream maker—is large and sits adjacent to dining area and living room allowing simultaneous cooking and socializing. Some views are toward Mt. Ashland, others toward the rose gardens—all pleasant.
Jackson Wellsprings spa is 1.5 miles away.
There is a fireplace in the living room as well as a piano. The house is air-conditioned.
Local organic fruits and vegetables are available by special order.

Owner, Susan B. Winn, originally from San Francisco and Palo Alto, has been in Ashland for over four years and loves it. She has been active with OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at Southern Oregon University, and she has enjoyed season tickets to the Rogue Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Camelot Theatre in Talent. She looks forward to sharing her beautiful home and property with those seeking a quiet place in the country just minutes away from downtown Ashland.
I fell in love with the property and house the minute I arrived, and never looked back.
So quiet! So in-the-country. So close to civilization at the same time.
