SMITH RIVER CABIN NESTLED IN THE REDWOODS - BREATHTAKING!

Crescent City Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5-7)

Enjoy our secluded, rustic and comfortable cabin, nestled on 1.5 acres on the bank of the Wild and Scenic Smith River in the heart of Redwood National and State Parks. Experience the gorgeous and world-renowned "Stout Grove" of ancient and majestic redwood trees just 3 miles up the road. There is a beautiful sandy swimming beach across the bridge, just minutes walking distance away.

The cabin has been our weekend retreat for 5 years, and we are ready to share it with others. International guests have called the Riverside Cabin the most beautiful place in the world they have ever stayed. There are 2 bedrooms, but our favorite place to stay is the king-sized trundle bed in the living room. You go to sleep by moonlight, and wake to the year-round waterfall out the window.

Our son's 40 lb King Salmon caught when he was 11, greets you as you enter the living room. Enjoy the hot tub and sauna for a late evening relaxation with a drink or an early morning pot of coffee. The waterfall and the 2000 year old redwood tree next to the deck are your view. Come and experience true relaxation in the fantasy "Star War's", "Return of the Jedi" location where Ewoks live and play amongst the world's tallest trees.

We have lived in the Crescent City area for 30 years, and own All Creatures Animal Hospital & Bird Clinic. We have raised 6 wonderful children here and believe this to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. We lead a very busy life filled with faith, family, work, and community involvement, and understand the need for peace and total relaxation to renew the soul.

Dennis and Becky Wood purchased this cabin in 2002

We purchased this property 8 years ago as a family retreat, 15 miles from our home and close enough for us to enjoy regularly. Our blood pressure drops 30 points every time we pull in the driveway, open the car door and smell the mountain and river air. Guests have been late to appointments and other engagements, because they couldn't bring themselves to leave in the morning. With all the joy it has brought to friends and acquaintances, we have decided to share it to a greater audience.

The peace and feeling of the wilderness are palpable. The beautiful clear waters of the Smith River below you and the sight and sound of the waterfall as you stand under the 2000 year old first growth redwood tree are almost surreal. The privacy of the hot tub and sauna in this setting is unmatched anywhere. Mornings and evenings by the wood fire are cozy and the possibility of a good movie with surround sound and a plate of hot cookies is too good to pass up!

We had such a wonderful stay. The others reviews described it perfectly, as well as the site and pictures.

The cabin felt so homey and welcoming when we got there. It was already dark when we arrived, so in the morning when we woke up it was so surprising! WHAT A VIEW! Definitely a beautiful location.

The outdoor hot tub was clean and perfect to combat the nice, chill mountain air. Lots of wood available to keep a fire going, and the kitchen was stocked up on all the basics for cooking (pots, pans, utensils- very handy!).

We definitely enjoyed our stay, and we will be trying to get our families to come for a family vacation!

My mom taught me. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Well I have to warn other vacationers. The moldy smell was horrible. I was afraid I was going to get a lung infection or something. My husband and I rented the cabin for a week. If I could have, without loosing $, I would have left the next day. There were cobwebs hanging off the bedroom lamp and everywhere else. Dirt behind everything. Even someones old q-tip under the bed/couch in the living room. The Hot Tub jets only half worked and even those didn't work very well, no pressure. The sauna was nice. The wood was soaking wet and could hardly keep a fire going. By the way 1/2 my home is heated with wood I know how It should be. I will not ever be back here again. I will bet I will never see this review on their website. But I think the people (VBRO) who list it should actually go there and smell it! Soooooooo BAD! I travel every year to some vacation rental or other, I have had time shares. But I can not tell you how disappointed I was when we got there and walked in and the moldy smell hit me like a wall. I do not believe the VRBO will be a company I will use again if this type of accommodations they endorse.

Comfortable cabin along a beautiful river. Hot tub and sauna were awesome under the redwood tree. Wood supplied for wood stove, wall heater worked great too. All cooking supplies we needed were in the kitchen. Generous supply of plush towels.

What a stunning location! Yeah the house itself is simple and not at all modern, but very quaint and comfortable. We weren't there for the house, we were there for the location and how perfect it is. The most amazing Redwood trail just 2 miles away, at the end of that trail just a 5 minute drive to the ocean, we picnicked there then drove back through the trail again. Also went into Crescent City to watch the sunset, very nice! The view in the back lawn, priceless! Seeing the stars shining while hot tubbing, sweet! My husband really enjoyed starting the burners on the antique oven, and the whole house reminded me of my grandparents home.
There were still ripe blackberries along the driveway and some tasty apples in the lawn by the schoolhouse, yum! Enjoyed the bonfire pit one eve and having those giant trees in the lawn is pretty cool.
Becky met us at the door, very nice woman. She explained everything we needed to know, and left us some yummy cookies! The hot tub was too hot the first night and Dennis had it fixed in a flash.
No hotel could offer all that this place does for this price.
Had a wonderful time, thank you for sharing your charming river house Woods, I am recommending it to all my friends and would love to return!
P.S. going to the chiropractor to get my neck re-adjusted from all the looking up at trees, lol!
