Thank you!

We had a wonderful time. Your lovely house was the perfect getaway for us, as would be for so many people. While we enjoyed a week of lounging, lazing, kayaking and cooking in, others could easily enjoy so many other activities, like hiking, swimming, and enjoying the many activities that Middlebury has to offer.

The house is gorgeous. The main bedroom, with its breathtaking views and large windows, was like sleeping in a landscape painting. And the master bathroom, with its jacuzzi tub that overlooked the lake, just added to our relaxation.

Finally, your own accommodations never failed to make us feel more welcome. Whether it was sharing songs with us on your porch or coming by to make sure that the outlets had safety plugs to ensure that our 1-year old was unharmed, we felt like we were well taken care of.

Thank you again for a lovely vacation. It was exactly what we needed.

Winter weekend escape!

  • 5 of 5

I can't stress enough how BEAUTIFUL this cabin is! My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere cozy to stay on Lake Champlain, close enough to Burlington and Stowe attractions but not necessarily right in town. This cabin was perfect. The view of the lake is amazing, and the house is incredibly well maintained and decked out with everything we could possibly need (including some very fun games in the basement - bumper pool is my new favorite thing!) Barb was such a great host - thank you again for the beautiful gift basket, we loved it all! My only regret is that it was too cold to go out ice fishing, which was our original intent - but if we had made it out, Barb was prepared with several recommendations that would have been very useful. I'm sure this would be a great stay in the summer as well and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Perfect for Two - Great Location and House

  • 5 of 5

My fiance and I stayed at this house for a long weekend (Saturday to Monday). Upon arrival Barb came over and showed us her incredible home. Newly built, there is so much thought into every piece. The open concept, the windows, the jacuzzi tub, the amazing gas insert stove that gave just the right amount of light, heat and ambiance for the entire house...I can't list all of the amazing things.

Something that really made this place great was the attention the owners gave us. There was an issue with the gas insert stove the first morning we were in the house, and Barb came over right away and called someone to get it fixed. She replaced it with a electric space heater to keep us warm and when the coffee machine was on the fritz, she went down the road and let us borrow the coffee maker from her own home. We really appreciated the attention we got while we were here and enjoyed a TON of Vermont-made goodies from the owners.

We rented this house for just the two of us, but there is a futon that would be perfect for kids or another couple. The decks overlooking the lake are to die for and the beautiful silence of the lake at night was worth the drive from Boston for us.

This property is about 35 miles from Burlington, and on the way are a ton of places to stop and check out. It was worth being away from the city but having such easy driving access to make a day trip to Burlington/Waterbury area. Barb was great in giving us a ton of information before we got there and when we got there to make sure we were seeing, tasting and experiencing the best the area had to offer.

We had a most excellent weekend and will definitely be returning.

Amazing Stay

  • 5 of 5

This property is so amazing. It is beautiful beyond belief, and really clean. The pictures just don't do it any justice. The decks (one on the first floor and one the second) provided great views. The bedroom is filled with spectacular views of the lake and mountains and stars when you sleep at night. It also has very nice en suite with a jacuzzi for two! The house filters artisan cold well water that is just amazingly delicious, I enjoyed it. This house has everything you can possibly need from cookware to sleds and everything in between. The Valentine's Day package was delicious and beautiful as well. Barbs is fantastic, she was super helpful, better than a concierge, if you ask me. Booking was easy, she helped us plan our stay before we even got there, which was a really big help. We were greeted with a beautiful welcome basket waiting for us, full of Vermont's treasures. Barb gave us recommendations and not a single one of them failed us. We cooked the most romantic dinner inside the beautiful home. I can't say enough about this place. We enjoyed sitting by the fire on a very comfortable couch. The rec room is awesome but we didn't have time to really play there. We actually took a video of the house to share with our families. I have recommended this place to everyone I know. While we were around, Barb advised us to visit the Ben and Jerry's Factory. Everyone has to go there. There's a nice little cozy restaurant that served the most delicious food ever, call Bridge Restaurant (which Barb recommended also). The Vermont Teddy Bear factory is there as well. Also visit Cold Hollow Cider Mill for some awesome cider! The maple syrup was to die for...ask Barbs about that when you're there. Thank you Barb, you made our trip nothing short of amazing! I can't wait to come back in the spring/summer time again.

Extraordinary! Such a beautiful getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

The overall feeling upon arrival was Wow, what a lovely retreat in such a gorgeous setting! The guest house is very thoughtfully and beautifully appointed. It's apparent that a great deal of care has been given to providing guests with all the comforts and amenities one could possibly want.

The expansive views of the lake, the changing sunsets, and the simple solace provided by the stunning natural beauty of the area are enough to make staying on the lake, never leaving the guest house, very tempting.

However, we found that the close proximity of Burlington, the surrounding mountains, the various fun and interesting cottage industries within a short drive, as well as a day trip to Montreal, added so many wonderful memories to our stay.

How wonderful it was to end our days anticipating the sun setting over the lake!

The hosts are so welcoming and helpful and have a wealth of knowledge about the area. They provided us with great suggestions as to fun day trips to take and places to visit.

Had we booked more time, we certainly would have stayed longer! We are planning another visit and will make sure that we book an extended stay. So looking forward to our return!!
