West Virginia's Canaan Valley has 2 downhill Ski Resorts and a Cross-Country Ski Center with miles of trails. The Valley is surrounded by the Monogehela National Forest, including two wilderness areas (Otter Creek, Dolly Sods), the Blackwater River and Canyon (site of Blackwater Falls), various forks of the Cheat River, several State Parks, Golf Courses, Horseback Riding, and more hiking and Mountain biking trails that you could hope to cover in a lifetime. The Valley is great for fishing and paddling, and rich with wildlife. Casa Paradiso lies right at the center of all this.

Fireplace, wood stove in the loft, all utensils, plates, bedding. etc are all provided. A lovely setting with deer as your constant companions. All you need is food, family or friends for a great vacation or weekend!

Skiing (Nordic and downhill), rafting, golfing, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, tennis. Canaan Valley is surrounded by wilderness areas, national forest, national wildlife refuge, and wild and scenic rivers.

Great in any season! Summers are cool and great for blueberries, fall is an amazing blaze of color. Winter is premiere skiing at several resorts within 10 minutes, and Spring is lovely with rhododendron blooms.

Ski: Timberline downhill skiing is walking distance. Canaan Valley state park skiing is 5 minutes by car. White Grass cross-country resort / cafe is accessible by skis or 5 minutes by car. Blackwater state park cross-country skiing is 15 minutes by car.

Golf: There is a golf course at nearby Canaan Valley state park (5 minutes away).

We loved this place, we had a great time, not a lot of snow but enough to enjoy skiing.
The house is really confortable and cozy. It's ideal for a family with children as they were upstair with all the confort and we downstair whith all the peace.
We've been there twice and I think our family is ready to rent it again for next year.

THIS PLACE IS A GREAT PLACE TO GO AND RELAX!!THE HOUSE IS GREAT AND THE OWERS ARE WONDERFUL. THE EVENING CAMP FIRES IS A GRAT WAY TO UNWIND AT THE DAYS END.

A very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is a fantastic place to unwind and we felt right at home relaxing on the back deck, second story balcony, and in the loft. The surroundings are very unique, and the area is truly one of a kind. The local people are great as is the dining. We will definitely be back again!
