Villas Catalinas complex is a little over an hour's drive from the airport in Liberia near the village of Potrero. Our unit is located above the beaches of Penca and Prietta, a 10-minute drive from the old resort town of Flamingo, and 30 minutes from Tamarindo where you can shop, dine and take surfing lessons. Then return to Villas Catalinas where you can enjoy peace, quiet, and privacy while looking out at the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The balcony is oversize and perfect for watching and/or listening to the monkeys in the trees across the road and seeing the local sailboats and fishing boats go in and out of the bay. It is about a mile from Lola's (north) restaurant and Los Catalinas where you can rent kayaks, paddle boards, boogie boards and mountain bikes. Serious bikers will love the trails that have been cut into the hills. Within walking distance are the restaurants of Sol y Mar and Los Brisas as well as Catalina Mini Market where you can pick up groceries. Sol y Mar's chef, Girardo, will prepare fish and shrimp dishes to order. Los Brisas is right on the beach and has the best margaritas around!
The beautiful infinity pool at Villas Catalinas is gorgeous; once you get there, you'll have to force yourself to go any place else! It has lots of space to lounge in the sun as well as a grill, sink and two full bathrooms with showers.
