Hi, we are Wladimir and Barbara. We have an apartment in the city centre of Amsterdam. We already received many guests that found a warm welcome at our place. As we live in the same building as this apartment is located, we are always stand by to provide our guests with handy tips or practical solutions.
Barbara purchased this apartment in 1975
We love to keep the space clean and well maintained. This is an ideal place if you're looking for a quiet place to stay in this lively Jordaan neighborhood.
Spacious and quiet apartment
Wonderful Apartment! It's even better than the pictures. Large and spacious, it was perfect for our family. Barbara, the owner, even had a baby crib ready for us without even asking! The location is perfect for walking to museums, restaurants, and strolling along the canals and the airport bus stops right next to the apartment! Market just around the corner for things you might need for cooking. The would highly recommend this apartment and I hope I have the pleasure to stay here again. Barbara was very prompt when answering my emails, and a wonderful host!
We were a group of 4, 2 couples, who recently chose this apartment for several reasons, but mainly because all the accommodation was on just one level. This proved to be an inspired choice because one of the group had broken her ankle prior to the trip. The steep stairs proved a challenge at first, but this was easily overcome, but the fact that there were no further stairs within the apartment meant once inside life was easy. The comfortable lounge chairs were a welcome relief - to all of us!
The apartment was exactly as it appears on the website - it is huge. The living area is well-appointed, very modern - and everything works. The kitchen looks bare, but is actually is very well equipped; everything needed is there but all the devices are hidden away - the dishwasher looks like a cupboard, the exhaust fan slides into another cupboard, etc. We would have liked to take the coffee making facilities away with us! They were efficient and supplied us with delicious, hot coffee. There is ample bench space, making food preparation easy and room enough for more than 1 cook to work at any one time. There is no conventional oven, but we did not see this as problem, as the convection microwave oven was easy to manage - the instruction manual was easy to follow.
The bedrooms were comfortable, large - each exactly the same size with the same facilities, so each couple felt well catered for. The bathroom was huge and very modern. There was a bath as well as a spacious shower; soaps, towels and a hair dryer provided. Clean towels were available on application.
There was no washing machine or dryer, but Barbara allowed us the use of hers. We negotiated the day and time as it is housed in an area used for her dance students. There was no problem with this arrangement; the machines were very efficient, modern, Miele. They conveniently had an express cycle, which meant the laundry process took just over one hour - for 2 loads.
Barbara is an excellent hostess, she is unobtrusive; she answered all our questions prior to our visit, and any we had on arrival.
We would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone seeking quality, comfortable accommodation in an area close to shops - just around the corner there is a food shopping area - especially a wonderful bakery, from where delicious croissants are available for breakfast - a supermarket which supplies every need.
Close to everything you need in Amsterdam and a wonderful getaway space. The stairs might prove challenging to those that aren't up to long narrow steps. We were right in the midst of a 4 day music festival and the apartment was still a restful island despite the loud partying across the street.
If you want local character and a holiday getaway - this property cannot be beat.
My husband, adult son, and I recently stayed at this rental flat in Amsterdam. We were very pleased with the cleanliness, the ease of getting there from the airport by bus, and the fact that it was right in the center of the Jordaan neighborhood, within close walking distance of restaurants and shops and just across the canal from a transit station. Barbara Donse-Decker could not have been more hospitable and accommodating. Thank you for a great stay!
Great Place to stay! Clean, quiet, Just as advertised! Owners very helpful and friendly. great location, close to bus and tram stops.
It was my third year of visiting Amsterdam and Keukenhof.
We enjoyed our stay at this apartment, it's very close to everything, spacious, very clean and well-maintained. I would highly recommend this place to friends.

Originally a working-class neighbourhood, the Jordaan has become one of the most expensive, upscale locations in the Netherlands. It is home to many art galleries, particularly for modern art, and is also dotted with speciality shops and restaurants. Markets are held regularly at Noordermarkt, the Westerstraat (the Lapjesmarkt textile market) and Lindengracht.
