Best location for your visit to San Francisco. Enjoy the convenience of an easy walk to Financial District, North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Union Square, the theater District, or just simply take the Cable Car.
This is the ideal place to have the quintessential experience of living like a local in San Francisco. Have a nice cup of coffee in the morning with the Cable Car bell sound outside your window. Explore the many famous sites around the city, then come home to a quiet evening. The use of 2 transit cards are included to make exploring the city easier.
The flat is a spacious 750 sq. ft. (70 sq. M) located on the top floor of a 4 story building, away from the street. The flat is very quiet. You will have a great night of sleep on the queen sized bed with 800 thread count sheets.
The living room is next to the bedroom, with the option of pocket doors to separate the rooms. Enjoy sitting on the comfortable couch by day and convert it into a queen sized bed by night. The living room is also furnished with a beautiful dining table and chairs, as well as a 40' flat screen.
The kitchen is stocked with cooking pots, pans and utensils, as well as basic spices.
The full bathroom has a shower over tub.
I grew up in San Francisco. Love this world class city for all it has to offer.
Mike & Amy purchased this apartment in 2003
It is centrally located. You can walk every where, or take public transit. Our world famous cable car is just right outside of the building.
Union Square, North Beach (Italian District), Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, Financial District and world class restaurants are all within an easy 20 minutes walk, or take the Cable Car.
Perfect apartment, perfect location. Very quiet. Mike had thought of everything needed to make it a very comfortable stay. Transit cards were invaluable. Only slight criticism - not enough wine glasses or teaspoons!
Pleasant surprise to find the property nicer than expected. Very clean and tidy without excess clutter. Comfortable bed and furnishings. Kitchen was stocked with everything possible for our own dinner preparation.
Location was amazing, with cable cars and buses right outside the door and no more than half a block left or right. It was also close to walk to union square or fisherman wharf, although sometimes we did ride the cable car instead. China town only two blocks away was very convenient as was the corner coffee/bakery on the same block! Grocery stores stocked full of fresh supplies only a few blocks.
After spending a week there we could not have chosen a better location and we will be back.
The bedroom and living quarters are placed near the back of the building so there was zero road noise. Our sleep was never interrupted by traffic or street noise - bonus!
The complementary transit passes saved us a lot of money and it encouraged us to explore all corners of San Fransisco, Thank you for that!
The roof top view was fabulous as well.
For the price, location, cleanliness, helpful owner and quiet nature of the building we give this a full five stars!
My daughter and I stayed in this apt and we loved it. I have rented apartments in several other large cities: Manhattan, Chicago and Boston. This apt was definitely the best. It's much larger than other city rentals, plus it has a washer and dryer which is very rare (Mike also had laundry detergent there for your use). Also for a city rental we were pleasantly surprised that there really was not much noise.
The apt was very clean, kitchen was well equipped with everything including paper towels and dish soap. A few reviewers have mentioned that there is no coffee maker just a coffee press. (I goggled how to use a coffee press which was very easy and my coffee was just as good). The bed was very comfortable and the sheets and towels were good quality. There are 3 flights of stairs but it really was not a big deal especially after navigating the hills in San Francisco.
The location is fantastic, 2 of the 3 cable car lines are right there on Mason Street. We used the 2 Clipper Cards everyday which saved us a lot of money. My daughter loved riding the cable cars and we rode them several times each day! The apt is on the edge of China Town and the Nob Hill Area, both are great neighborhoods to explore and have wonderful restaurants.
Mike was also very easy to work with and I will definitely try to stay here on my next visit to San Fran.
We really enjoyed our stay in this very nice apartment. It is beautiful, in a beautifully maintained building. Just accept the three flights of stairs, like all the surrounding hills- its San Francisco! The cable car travels right past your front door and the bus is half a block away. Owner supplies transit cards good for these and subway- cards will get you all over town- good as gold (it helps to get a transit map). Or walk a couple of blocks downhill to the middle of Chinatown. Fascinating area. Don't miss it!
Adorable apartment on Mason St in the Nobb Hill neighborhood of San Fran. The space was larger and more open than I anticipated based on the pictures. Very well maintained. Lots of natural light. Lots of city noises and some neighbors could be heard, but this is to be expected in a downtown environment. One drawback is that the unit sits atop 3 large flights of stairs- kindof a burden if you have a ton of luggage. The owner was wonderful to work with- he met me there on the first day and left his phone number to call or text with any questions or concerns. Would definitely stay here again.
Attractions: Cable car museum is a block away & it's FREE! Nobb Hill Spa is a short walk away & has stunning views of the city as well as pristine facilities.
Restaurants: Mason & Pacific is literally across the St & Amazing! Beacon Coffee & Pantry on Columbus for your daily caffeination. MyMy on California & Larkin for the best breakfast!
Services: Juicy Nails (also across the street) has a super affordable mani/pedi in a cute & comfy venue.
A clean well cared for apartment,we had everything we needed to be comfortable. My husband and I were in San Francisco to visit our son. we were within walking distance of many things we wanted to see, with buses and cable cars in front. We enjoyed the washer and dryer, plus the well equipped kitchen. It was the perfect spot for what we needed.
