Newly retired we are looking to enjoy this condo along with sharing it with others. We are open to suggestions to making it the best we can make it. We have a large family that will come in to enjoy our newly acquired condo several times a year.
We hope that you and your family will have a memorable vacation in our condo!
Eva or Dennis Singletary purchased this condo in 2010
We love Lake Ouachita and it is the largest lake in Arkansas where you can fish, ski, boatride and enjoy the beauty of the shorelines. The condo's are the perfect vacation experience in Arkansas. We looked at all the lakes and think Mtn. Harbor is in the perfect locale for outdoor fun with it's proximity to Hot Springs when you want to take a break from being on the water. Hiking is also fun here in Mtn. Harbor!
Nature and bird watching abound from the condo! Swimming in the pool or in the lake, skiing, tubing, fishing or just boat riding are just a few of the fun things to do at Mtn. Harbor. We love grilling on the deck and watching the sun go down. We also enjoy eating in the Mtn. Harbor resort restaurant any time of day. We also like to take our deck chairs and go put our feet in the lake and enjoy the sun or lay around the pool.
We really enjoyed our condo stay. It was decorated so cute and nice and clean. We liked the second bedroom with all the sleeping space. We were especially glad to see the swim noodles
as we had stopped by 5 stores on the way there to find some. Unfortunately we lost one of the blue noodles. We took them to the pool and were the only ones there, but when we left we could only find 3 noodles. I believe everything else was left in good order.
I stayed here for a family reunion with my parents (2), my husband (2) and my sister's family (2 adults, 3 kids). It definitely felt crowded, but if there were four people, I think it would be a perfect mountain getaway. We really enjoyed our stay and can see that these owners take pride in their property. That said, here's the good and the bad:
Good: Location, peaceful balcony for sipping morning coffee, posh master bedroom/bath, living room furnishings
Bad: No propane for grill, sleeper sofa was painful to sleep on, guest bathtub didn't drain very well
Over all, we had a nice stay and the owners are very responsive to emails about the property.
Enjoyed our stay. Eva easy to work with. The condo was clean and nicely decorated. We had all necessary items in the kitchen except and 8" pan to make brownies :) No big deal. We enjoyed the resort resturant. We also rode horses at the riding stable and John was an excellent guide for the novice. Loved having a fire in the evenings. Would definately go back and the main reason is how easy it was dealing with the homeowners.
My wife and I spent a fun weekend here with our 12-year-old daughter and 2 of her friends, who were all on their way to 2 weeks at Camp Ozark. The bedroom setup was perfect, with a large bed in the master and a bunk beds/daybed combo in the girls' room. The Turtle Cove spa and swimming pool is just down the hill from the condo. Even though we had bad weather for most of our stay, the girls enjoyed just hanging out in the condo and playing games. The owners were great at responding to my questions, and were very helpful in arranging our stay and providing info about local restaurants, etc. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.
We met our daughter & family from TX here for a vacation and had a wonderful time! The location was beautiful, the lake was clear and not too cold, the restaurant at the resort was exceptional (BYOB but they'll provide glasses), and the kids loved the pool and all the wildlife they saw (deer every day). There were lots of things to see and do, and being in the mountains, lots of hills to climb and stairs, which was great exercise. The condo was well equipped, and had everything we needed, we expecially appreciated the washer & dryer! We all had our own "space" and could relax and have fun. The kids loved being able to pick crystals off the ground to take home, and the big TV with lots of channels was a plus when we'd get tired from too much fun. It was nice being able to cook many of our own meals in the well equipped kitchen. Resort security told us we could keep our boat at the dock by the spa, which saved us $35 a day docking at the marina. I wouldn't recommend the Subway at the Marina, very expensive and not the usual portions. Dennis and Eva are so accomodating and helpful, we were very pleased with the whole experience and highly recommend the property.
Our family of 3 had more than enough space. Our 13 year old chose to sleep on the sofa bed with a huge flat screen TV which was a vacation in and of itself for him but there was plenty of space in the 2nd bedroom to accommodate 3-4 more children if we had brought along cousins. The condo was very well kept with very nice linens and thick thirsty towels…another treat. We ate out for all of our meals and did not use the kitchen except for refrigeration but it seemed to have everything you need for basic meals and of course the deck and nice gas grill would be perfect for outdoor cooking too. The resort is very large with a restaurant near the marina and a Subway at the marina. Pizza and sandwiches and breakfast also at the store at the entrance to the resort. Turtle Cove Spa is just a walk down the hill next to the pool. Lovely place and any service you’d like is available. I had a fantastic 90 minute massage. We rented a fishing boat at the marina and had a great day on the lake. Staff was very helpful also. It was too hot to ride the horses but definitely a great activity if weather permits. We saw deer every day and a few other wildlife. My biggest tip….do not plan for a night arrival because it is too dark to find the condo with all of the twist and turns and minimal lights…remember, you’ll be in a forest. Arrive in daylight and then you’ll be fine after that….glad we did.
Thank you Eva!! Our stay far exceeded our expectations….
Other things to do: Drive into Mt. Ida (10 miles past the resort)…it’s like stepping back in time. Eat at Mt. Ida Café where the whole little town seems to gather. There is rock shopping all along the route as well. I found the first two to be the nicest and they have air conditioning too! Also, a full service grocery store is in Mt. Ida so that’s the best place to get your groceries for the week because there is minimal at the resort. Hot Springs (30 minutes away). Downtown: bath houses, Arlington Hotel and the American Gangster Museum is top choice for the history alone; wax museum, best steaks ever the Brick House Grill; Granny’s kitchen for home style meals. Fisherman’s Wharf has excellent seafood (take it from a South Louisiana gal) and it’s on the water. Indoor Shooting Range and Great American Science Museum for a rainy day. Hike the national parks, bring your bikes, so much more you can do!
Our family of 4 adults and 3 children loved this comfortable condo. It was great being able to put the kids in the bunk room and though there was room for the adults, they chose to sleep on the hide-a-bed in the living room. The kitchen is furnished with the basics but I was glad I took my crockpot, electric skillet and ice cream maker just because I was cooking for 7 and the large electric skillet makes breakfast easy and the crockpot is a great way to cook dinner while you play. There is a nice grill for your use as well with nice grill utensils. Everything was clean and in good repair.
The pool is right by the spa and dock. You can easily walk down the hill or drive if you have anyone that is unable to walk down there. We chose to launch the boat daily and pull up to the dock for day use however you are close to the marina if you wish to store your boat there. Only 3 boats fit at the dock so you don't want to leave your boat there for any extended period of time since a lot of people share it.
Other outings we enjoyed: Horseback riding at the stables that you pass coming into Mtn Harbor was great. It was trail riding but the horses were good for the inexperienced and even the kids loved it. The women loved the Quawpaw Bathhouse in Hotsprings and the little girls loved a facial at the Arlington Hotel Spa Salon followed by feathers in their hair. Arlington Hotel is the only bath house that have special services for little girls (under 12) but we like the salon not the bath house upstairs.
No trip is complete without a booboo and I highly suggest the Mercy Hospital minor emergency in Hot Springs over the St. Joseph ER or Minor Emergency clinic.
I highly recommend this property and the owner is very friendly and helpful. There are stairs and hills (since you are in the mountains) if that is a problem for anyone in your party. Not sure 2 couples would like the bunkroom but it is great for families. Not sure about teenagers...they would need to be ok with sleeping in the same room for a little bonding experience. Try it!
