Our home is your gateway to a relaxing visit on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are in Kona Paradise Subdivision, at the bottom of Kaohe Road, just a two hundred yard walk to Pebble Beach. We are so close to the ocean that you can hear the whales calling and the waves crashing onto the shore. We have fantastic views of the ocean and the mountains to the south.

The morning is our favorite time to enjoy the cool ocean breeze, sip a hot cup of 100% kona coffee and eat a delicious papaya on the quiet lanai after awaking to the birds chirping and the beautiful hillside beckoning a morning hike. This is paradise!

Our 2-story home is clean and spacious with an open floor plan. It is three bedrooms, two baths with the living room, dining room, lanai, and kitchen on the upper floor and the garage and laundry below. The spacious master bedroom has its own sliding door onto the lanai, a plush pillowtop king size bed, walk-in closet, ensuite bathroom, and full wall of windows facing the southern view and lanai. The house has been professionally furnished with pieces from the Stanley Costal Living Resort Collection. The sunlit guest bedroom features a pillowtop queen bed and shares a full bathroom with the third bedroom, containing two twin beds. Each bedroom, the living room and lanai have ceiling fans. The house is not air-conditioned but all windows are screened, there are two sliding doors onto the lanai, and plenty of ocean and mountain breezes. The expansive covered lanai (15x30) is easily accessed off of the living room and master suite. You will find fantastic views and an enjoyable patio dining table and chairs to enjoy quiet mornings or sunset dinners.

The kitchen has brand new stainless steel appliances and is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, table linens, cooking utensils, blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, hot water kettle, rice cooker, waffle maker and baking pans.

We are located 25 miles south of Kona and 35 miles south of the airport, off of Highway 11. It is a beautiful, lush and scenic drive past quaint towns and coffee farms. We have Pebble Beach just a short, non-exerting, 200 yard walk from our front door. It is a private, small black pebble beach that offers hiking trail access, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddle-boarding and diving access, most months. We are also close to Ho'okeena Beach, Pu-uhonua o Honaunau (Place of Refuge) and Two Steps, well known for great snorkeling, The Painted Church, and Kealakekua Bay (Capt James Cook Monument). Volcano National Park is 70 miles to the south with great hiking and volcano viewing.

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Captain Cook

We have always enjoyed Hawaii and fell in love with the Big Island. We especially enjoy the Kona Paradise neighborhood because it is safe, quiet and friendly and one of very few residential areas that has easy access to the beach and coastline. It is located in a beautiful, lush (but not rainy) area of the island near many coffee farms. Our home has excellent proximity to the ocean. You can hear the whales at night and in the morning the birds chirp and your eyes are met with beautiful mountain and ocean views. It is so peaceful.

What makes this house unique

We love the quiet tropical location of Kona Paradise. It is close enough to a number of great attractions but away from the tourista of downtown Kona. We know you will love the tranquility of our beautiful home and the incredible ocean sounds and views.

Three generation vacation

The house was just right for 3 of us (3 generations included 7 yr old) Quiet neighborhood, sound of waves to go to sleep by, wonderful view, close to beach. Everything we needed for the week, including lots of helpful info, suggestions for shopping, touristing, and an up-to-date island guidebook. Helpful to have washer/dryer. Quick response by owner when we had a question - great hospitality. Plenty to see and do in the area, but we were happy just hanging out at the house, sitting on the lanai and enjoying the view, birds, breezes, and flowers. Would have loved to spend another week or two there...

Awesome home!

The house is on a steep hill which is great because almost every home has sweeping views of the ocean. Yhis home has grand views from the living, master bedroom and open kitchen. The other great part of this location is that it is virtually on of the last home on the steep hill, so you dont have a long walk down to the virtually private pebble beach. It also doesnt get much traffic at all because of the seclusion, making it very peaceful.

The house itself is a newer construction. The owners are obviously very clean and very organized. Theyve chosen furnishings tastefully. It has a tropical feel.

They have a master bedroom with king bed, a guest or second bedroom with a queen bed and a childs room with two twin beds. Our two year old LOVED, the childs room as it was decorated with sharks, mermaids, whales. In fact the whole house was very child friendly.

The locationi is on the south side of the island. There are some awesome beaches within 30 minutes drive of the house. You are about an hour drive south of the airport. 2 hour drive from the valcano park.

We would definitely stay and recommend this place again!
