3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, top floor penthouse, wrap around balcony. Sleeps 6- 8.

Somerset is located on the residential end of West Gulf Drive, where the properties have fewer units, more land, and monthly rental zoning.

With 6 units per building (5 buildings, 30 units in total), we enjoy covered parking, elevator, a large, luxurious pool, private tennis court, grills and fantastic panoramic gulf views. Our unit looks at the water from the front door, living/dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, screened lanai and guest bedroom.

We look due south and west. Dolphins, sailboats, birds and gopher tortoises meander by and time seems to slow to a pace that can best be described as slow and relaxing. Island Time!

You can walk a short distance down the beach to the Normandy Room restaurant, a local favorite for breakfast & lunch.

The living room features stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico, and it's perfect for entertaining, reading a book, or just looking at that fabulous water! You can seat 6 comfortably, and there is a Henredon entertainment center with flat panel tv/dvd player and a full reading library offering a broad variety of subjects.

The dining room features seating for 6, a table leaf insert (pads too), a sideboard with placemats and serving pieces, and of course, it looks straight out to the gulf as well.

The fully-equipped kitchen has ample storage in a full pantry, and is equipped with a stove/oven/microwave, side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher and compactor. There is an abundance of serving platters and bowls for entertaining, and lots of glassware for cocktailing. We have Villeroy & Boch dishes and plenty of Tupperware and cookware. The only thing missing is YOU!

There is a full laundry with washer/dryer and a Guest Powder Room just off the kitchen near the guest bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a King bed, flat panel tv and dvd player. Lie in bed and look right out at the water. What a sight to see first thing in the morning! There are privacy drapes for those of you that wish to sleep in. There are triple sliding doors and a single set that lead to the screened lanai.

The master bathroom has a walk-in closet, double vanities, jacuzzi tub, hair dryer and separate water-closet room with a full shower. There is tons of room for your toiletries and personal items!

The two guest bedrooms each have 2 twin beds and their own closets, and they share a very large Jack-and-Jill bathroom between them. One guest bedroom has gulf views, while the other has garden views and a partial view of the tennis court and grill area. The bathroom has a single vanity, loads of counter space, built in cabinetry for linens, and a full shower.

The wrap around lanai has a chaise lounge, a larger Lloyd Flanders wicker seating area for 4 and a bistro set that seats 2. There is a phone and ceiling fan on the lanai as well. There are exterior sliding glass doors as well, so if a rain storm is approaching you can close them and keep the lanai dry and free from rain.

The artwork throughout our condo is a mix of our love of island photography, birds, and the Southwest, with a little Asian mixed in. We have many pieces by Sanibel favorite Ikki Matsumoto, and have beautiful pottery that we enjoy very much. We hope you will as well!

We have covered parking and an elevator to service our 6-unit building. Downstairs we have a grill and picnic area, and the tennis court is just beyond the grill area. The outdoor heated swimming pool is one building over, and it has chaise lounges, tables, chairs and umbrellas. The pool has a boardwalk that leads to the beach.

We have an on-island property management company that is available 24 Hours A Day to assist you. Sharon and Judy at Cottages to Castles have been on the island for 30 years, and they can help you with every detail in planning your trip to Sanibel, as well as during your stay. They offer us the peace of mind that should something go wrong (you've locked yourself out, can't figure out how to reset a clock, etc) that they are there to help you immediately. Hopefully everything is perfect for your stay!

If you wish to have housekeeping during your stay, that can be arranged through Cottages to Castles for an additional fee. Our private housekeeper will contact you to make arrangements for your arrival, unpacking your luggage, provisioning the condo with groceries, as well as tending to your cleaning needs during your stay.

Our property is located on prestigious West Gulf Drive, where the 1 month minimum rental requirement means uncrowded beaches, fewer residences and less density. Only 30 units comprise Somerset at the Reef, and ours is a top-floor penthouse, west corner unit, guaranteeing jaw-dropping water views and sunsets from virtually every room.

Sanibel is world-famous for its shelling beaches, fishing and the J.N. 'Ding' Darling Wildlife Refuge.

We have 26 miles of bike paths, galleries, restaurants, shops and miles and miles of fabulous sugar sand beaches.

You can learn about our islands at the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, the Sanibel Historical Village, Tarpon Bay Recreation Center, the Sanibel Sea School (for adults and children), and the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. There are many kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddle boarding opportunities on the islands, or you can take a fishing or lunch cruise to the outer islands of Cabbage Key, Cayo Costa or Useppa, have a Cheeseburger in Paradise and learn about the Calusa Indians that inhabited our islands.

There is so much to see and do, or you can relax and do nothing at all! Read a book, watch the dolphins while you run your toes through the sand and enjoy a sunset with a cocktail.
