The holiday house:
Our family-friendly holiday home “Sophia” offers an ample 92 sq m of living space for 4-8 persons and is located in the 4-star holiday park St. Lorenzen ob Murau. The new, ecological wooden house has a large living and dining area including a fully-equipped kitchen. There is a Swedish furnace in the living room for romantic winter evenings. The living room leads to a large, partly roofed-over terrace perfect for barbequing in the summertime. There is also a bathroom with shower, cloakroom, and equipment room on the ground floor. The top floor offers two double rooms, 1 bedroom that sleeps four, and a large bathroom with bathtub. Of course the furnishings include not only an electric cooker, refrigerator with freezer, and dishwasher, but also a satellite TV and stereo system. As we have small children of our own, high chairs, children’s beds, changing pads as well as several toys are on hand.
The surrounding:
St. Lorenzen lies in the green heart of Austria. The holiday park is surrounded by mountains and Austria’s cleanest air. The town centre as well as the valley station of the Kreischberg ski and hiking area are approximately 400 m away. A beautiful path behind the house follows the Mur river and leads directly to an open-air swimming pool and tennis courts some 800 m away. The Murau region is an unspoiled rural landscape off the beaten tourist track even though it offers everything you expect from a relaxing holiday. Here you can still experience the innate friendliness of the locals.
In Summer:
The region is ideal for hiking, bathing, rafting, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, tennis and many other activities. Within a radius of 20 km, there are several bathing lakes, two summer toboggan runs, and a fairy tale theme park. Bike rental, biking, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, fishing, golf, hiking, hiking, horse-back riding, jogging, mountaineering, open-air pool, sauna, squash, swimming, tennis, tobogganing is available.
Ski:
In winter, the nearby (400 m) Kreischberg ski area is obviously perfect for skiing and snowboarding. The Kreischberg is the second largest ski area in the Steiermark region and was the venue for the 2003 Snowboard World Championships. In addition to family ski runs, the area also has options for pros, as well as a fun park for snowboarders with the world’s longest half-pipe. For children, the ski area offers a dinosaur park, trampoline, tubing run, ski and snowboard lessons, and many other activities. Located at 850 m to 2100 m and being one of Europe’s most modern snow-making facilities, the ski area guarantees snow from early December through after Easter. The Mur Valley ski pass provides access to 7 ski areas, including the Turracher Höhe.
