I grew up in the Midwest, moved to Eastern Washington for work and ended up raising my family there. Now that I'm retired, I enjoy living in the Seattle area. My daughter lives in Seattle and I am enjoy spending time with my three grandsons. My two sons live outside the state of Washington with their spouses. I obtained my license as a real estate broker in the summer of 2012 and am enjoying this retirement career.

Charles Grenard or Debbie Fromel purchased this house in 2004

I originally purchased this home as a place for my sons to live as they attended the nearby University of Washington. Laurelhurst has a deserved reputation for being a quiet, considerate and safe neighborhood so I felt very comfortable with my children living there. The home was really ideal for them with it's close proximity to the main campus as well as a quiet place to study. Since they no longer need housing for school, this home provides me with an ideal location for family gatherings when all my children are in town.

The quiet neighborhood, pleasant view, entertaining deck make this home very comfortable to live in. The incredibly convenient location makes this a great base for any number of types of stays in Seattle. It provides easy access to Children's Hospital, University of Washington, the UW Medical center, lots of shopping, dining, and other great local services. Getting downtown is easy and doesn't require getting on the freeway. The nearby bus routes make it easy to get around Seattle.

Sheets on the bed were all stained, had hair in them, and were just plain disgusting. The shower has incredible amounts of mold in it, with a shower liner that had all kinds of filth on it, and very disgusting as well. The dishes in the kitchen are extremely well used. The so called "second" bathroom is really just a dark corner in an unfinished, creepy basement, with no lighting and a Trader Joe's bag as a curtain. Also, this so called "view" is non-existent. Finally, it is very close to a busy road which makes for unpleasant sleep.
Please just find a different place to stay.

Owner's Response: The house is professionally cleaned, including changing of the sheets after each stay. The cleaning company has been reminded that sheets on all the beds are changed, that stained or torn sheets are removed from service, and that the shower curtains and bath mats are cleaned after each stay.

This is the first complaint about traffic noise received. The noise is minimized by the distance from the street and the new windows installed a couple years ago. People are informed that there is a little traffic noise when they ask.

This is also the first complaint received after several years of operation about the other issues. Feedback is desired from past and future renters is desired for me to determine the best plan of action.

THE LISTING DESCRIPTION WAS VERY ACCURATE REGARDING THIS LOCATION.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this quiet, comfortable, and immaculate home. The photos of the home were extremely accurate. The home was very nice and clean and perfect for my families two week vacation trip to Seattle. We were very comfortable during our two week stay and looked forward to coming home each day after exploring the Pacific Northwest. We enjoyed the living room area, all of the bedrooms and having two bathrooms for our family to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked for all of our cooking needs. There were also plenty of extra blankets, towels, and linens for our family. Most impressive was the deck in the front of the house. Almost nightly, we enjoyed BBQ on the deck while playing catch in the front yard. The Laurelhurst neighborhood was a very quiet, safe, and special neighborhood. We enjoyed our neighborhood walks down to Gretchen's (local coffee house) and up to Laurelhurst Park and Elementary school where we all enjoyed playing catch and seeing the fireworks, etc. We met so many nice and friendly families in the neighborhood and we felt so welcomed during our two week stay. My family and I also really appreciated how wonderful and helpful the owners of this home were. Debbie and John were so very friendly and easy to work with. They went out of their way to help make our vacation a special one. My family and I really enjoyed our two week stay in this vacation home and its central location was perfect for us to explore the entire Seattle area. We feel we could not have found a better vacation home for our annual summer vacation. We highly recommend this home for any families or couples who are looking for a wonderful Seattle vacation or get away.

PERFECT LAURELHURST HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
We needed a place to stay for a long weekend in January in Seattle for a visit to family, much of it living in Laurelhurst. We were 7 adults and one baby --- the two of us, our three daughters, two of their three husbands, and a six-month old. The owners very thoughtfully set up a porta-crib for us in the master bedroom ahead of our arrival. The house is clean and attractive, and we all slept comfortably. The beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped (though we didn't really do any cooking). Everything worked very smoothly. We were very happy with this rental.

A WONDERFUL MEMORY

  • 5 of 5
We attended a conference meeting in Seattle and had a great time during our 8 days staying in this house. Being a UW alumnus I am familiar with the area where the house is located- a very nice residential neighborhood but not too far away from University of Washington and downtown Seattle. We has a small trouble getting the internet to work in the house when we arrived, but the owner, John was very responsive and helped to get the problem solved even at the time of 9pm in Friday night. Over all a great experience for all of us.
