Lovely home on a resort island located 20 miles from Charleston. Fully furnished in an area without commercial development. The address is 121 Conifer Lane in the West Beach Village area. Recently recognized by the Kiawah Conservancy with a Silver Sweetgrass Award for natural landscaping. The house overlooks the third tee of the Cougar Point Golf Course. Three of the bedrooms have queen-size beds; the fourth bedroom has twin beds. The fifth room, an upstairs den, has a pullout sofa bed that sleeps two. There are a total of three and a half baths. A fully-equipped, gourmet kitchen, great room, and large screened porch complete the living area of the cottage. There are decks off two of the bedrooms. You can pick up the island-long bike path just across the street. The house is a short walk or ride to the ocean. Ten miles of scenic beachfront and miles and miles of bike and walking trails. One of America's top 10 beaches and 'America's Best Wildlife Getaway Beach.'

No pets/smoking permitted. Departure cleaning included in rental. Nearby Bohicket Marina for boat rentals and deep sea fishing. Canoeing, kayaking, crabbing, shrimping, and fishing in the nearby tidal marshes and creeks. And, of course, tons of golf and tennis. Our home is on a quiet cul-de-sac in the West Beach Village area, just a short stroll from the Straw Market, bicycle rentals, and Cougar Point golf course. Spacious screened porch with rocking chairs overlooks the third tee box.

Lagoon view from upper deck. The trees surrounding the house create a feeling of privacy. We have been awarded a Silver Sweetgrass Award for natural landscaping by the Kiawah Conservancy. Beach access through single-level boardwalk is a 10-min. walk or even shorter bike ride. Abundant parking nearby if you take your car to the beach. We are .3 miles from the main security gate and only 2.3 miles from the Freshfields shops.

Perfect Vacation Home!

We shared this beautiful home with it's great location with friends and family while attending the Cooper River Bridge Run, April 2009. The home was superbly well-stocked with everything we needed and we had plenty of space for 4 couples and two children. The location can't be beat - a short walk to the beach, bike trail across the street, and a 30-minute or so drive to Charleston. We definitely plan to return - it truly was one of the best places we've ever stayed on vacation.
Owner's Response: We do make every effort to keep basic supplies stocked up. We go to Kiawah a lot ourselves and appreciate not having to shop for everything once we get there. We also agree that we have an awesome location and house.

Wonderful Kiawah Rental

My sons and I stayed in this delightful rental with my brother, his wife and their three children the first full week in July 2008. While the weather was hot and muggy (typical in other words) the rental was far from typical in that it was lovely as well as imminently functional. Eight of us (3 adults and 5 children) were able to fit the home perfectly and we especially loved the large family room/dining area. There were also books and board games around which were used when the rain came through in the afternoons. The house is in a great location at West Beach end and obviously well situated for biking in any direction. We appreciated too the extremely well-stocked kitchen where you could actually find the implement you needed to cook a real meal (a novel experience, quite unlike other rentals we'd had at Kiawah before). The home was very tastefully decorated and felt like a true 'home'. We could not recommend this rental enough and will plan to stay there again down the road.

The perfect vacation house

This house could not have been more comfortable, clean, and well appointed, and the location was perfect: close enough for our teenaged boys to bike to the Straw Market (a big attraction), the West Beach tennis complex, and the beach, but with quiet surroundings. Access to the bike trail is almost directly across the street--one morning my husband and I got on our bikes and rode the island's trails for nearly three hours.

During our one rainy morning, we played Scrabble on the large screened porch at the back of the house--perfect. The owner provided excellent service and information. We would definitely recommend this house to others and consider returning there ourselves.

A Wonderful Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our spring break at your beautiful home on Kiawah Island. This was our first trip to South Carolina and Kiawah Island. Your home was so comfortable for our family, with everything we needed for our stay. It was just as you described it. The beach was a short walk away, and we loved biking the trails and the beach, shelling, swimming, watching the wildlife, and just relaxing. We hope to visit again!
Owner's Response: We use our Kiawah property a lot ourselves, so we try to keep it in tiptop shape. There is no better place for a relaxing beach vacation than Kiawah Island!
