Encinitas House Rental Photos and Description
house, 4 bedrooms, 3.25 bathrooms, sleeps 2-8
This beautiful home is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Encinitas. It's situated above Hwy 101 so you can walk to the many great restaurants, bars and shops. You can also walk to Swami's Beach, D Street and Moonlight Beach. The new railroad underground walkway is now open, just down the street from my home, to walk to the beach and shops.
The home is on about half an acre which is unusual so close to the ocean. Plenty of privacy in the backyard and on the 3 decks. The largest deck faces the ocean and has plenty of seating, a fire pit and a heater for relaxing conversation, reading the paper over coffee in the morning and a cocktail after a day at the beach. This deck has a huge umbrella so you can enjoy the view without getting too much sun exposure - perfect for a nap!
Enjoy a cozy and romantic evening at the outdoor fireplace. There's a swing set for the kid in all of us.
The outdoor kitchen is large and seats 6. There's a state-of-the-art built-in Alfresco barbeque with a 5-knob burner, rotisserie and stove. There's a radio, lighting in the center of the island to place ice and beverages. A refrigerator and keg'erator are also included.
The indoor kitchen has a stainless steel refrigerator, moving island, compactor and dishwasher, a breakfast nook and an ocean view.
This home has spectacular ocean views from the 3 bedrooms upstairs. It is a well known home in the area and is a landmark home in the San Diego Architectural book and the Encinitas Historical Society's book on landmark homes. There is a private deck off the downstairs master bedroom facing east and into the backyard.
The upstairs master bedroom takes up the whole west side of the home and has a tremendous ocean view. There is a king-size sleigh bed, a TV and a chaise. The adjoining private bathroom has an over sized shower with a regular shower faucet and a rain shower faucet, a jacuzzi tub and large closet. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom. Both have terrific ocean views; one room has a queen-size sleigh bed and one has a full-size sleigh bed. All of the bedrooms mattresses are new. Plenty of closet space is available for each room. The home is very comfortable and spacious. Guest comment: 'For 6 adults and 7 young children there is plenty of space and privacy for all of us.'
The downstairs master bedroom has a newly renovated full-bath. There are french doors that emerge onto a private deck facing the backyard. There is a queen-size sleigh bed and new mattress. All 4 bathrooms have new Toto toilets.
There is a side lot for parking and safe loading and unloading of children and it is gated for added security. The yard is large and guests enjoy playing Bocce ball, bean bag toss, and any other lawn games they might bring with them such as croquet and badminton.
The kitchen opens to a deck which also leads up to the over sized ocean view deck. I find my guests enjoy all of the decks and the backyard and spend most of their time outside when they're not at the beach or walking on 101 down below.
The dining room has a very long table with benches on each side and chairs on either end, great for large meals and to enjoy the ocean view. The living room is cozy and has a TV.
The outdoor kitchen is large and seats 6. There is a state of the art built-in barbeque with an Alfresco 5-knob burner, rotisserie and stove. There is a radio, lighting in the center of the island to place ice and put beers and to chill wine. A refrigerator and keg'erator are also included.
The indoor kitchen has a stainless steel refrigerator, moving island, compactor and dishwasher and a breakfast nook - and there is an ocean view.
This is a very comfortable, elegant home with a neutral decor of dark hardwood flooring, new windows, new window coverings and some architectural gestures and features from the 1920's. There is original tile work in the powder bathroom that matches the fireplace hearth, carved mahogany doors with crystal knobs and an original carved facade on the over-sized fireplace in the living room.
This is a great home for a reunion, guy's surf weekend, girlfriend getaway or family vacation. Located within 5 minutes of a golf course, Del Mar race track, Legoland and walking distance to the beach, 30 restaurants, shops and 2 parks!

Guestbook comments from the owner
What a special find. This home is beautiful and comfortable. Very simple yet elegant decor, great ocean views from all bedrooms, tons of amenities and the outdoor kitchen, fireplace and decks are amazing. Fresh ocean air kept us cool at night and we walked to downtown Encinitas and the beach every day. Owner also let us use beach towels, rolling coolers, mountain bikes and even had a welcome basket with a gift card to a restaurant! Plus, it's an old house that has been nicely renovated.
