Azoia is a beautiful, pristine village in one of Portugal’s most prestigious areas, very near Cabo da Roca, Continental Europe’s most western point. It has four restaurants, two cafés a wonderful character bar/café (Moinho Don Quixote) with exceptional ocean outlooks, local fresh air produce markets, and warm, friendly people. The extensive and lovely Sintra-Cascais National Park is a short walk away, filled with hiking and biking trails, unusual rock formations, deep lush forest, religious areas, castle ruins, and historic convents and monasteries (Santuario de Nossa Senora da Pena, or Convent of the Capuchos). Close by are a variety of fine beaches and ocean walks, including one of Europe’s finest wind-surfing areas, Guincho beach, as well superb restaurants (Michelin star) and a world class golf course (Penha Longa, home of the Portuguese Open. A 20 minute drive or 30 minute bus ride puts you in the elegant city of Sintra with its many stunning castles—the fantasy Pena Palace, the arabesque Monserrate Estate, Castle of the Moors, and the very mysterious Quinta da Regaleira. An equal ride takes you to the lovely ocean town of Cascais with its fine dining and promenades. Wine tours and tastings, surfing and parasailing, guided hikes, and catered dining are just some of the many holiday activities available to our renters.
