Photos and Description of the Wanaka vacation house rental

 Architecturally designed and constructed in 2010, Black Barrel Lodge stands proud on half an acre of expansive irrigated lawn ringed by landscaped gardens planted to complement the surrounding natural beauty.

Summer BBQ's or winter apres ski sessions, the spacious terrace featuring a large schist stone fireplace and outdoor dining is the perfect place to unwind with a glass of the finest local wine and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Children of all ages will love the freedom the expansive lawn provides whilst the large shingle driveway has ample off-street parking.

Inside, the large open plan chef’s kitchen, dining and lounge area complete with feature schist stone fireplace is the perfect place to entertain guests or re-live the day’s activities. Polished concrete floors with under-floor heating add a contemporary touch and ensure the Lodge is always toasty warm.

When forced indoors, the built-in surround-sound stereo system with indoor and outdoor speakers and huge LCD TV / DVD takes care of your entertainment needs. If you’re after some time out, the second living room with studio log burner and separate TV / DVD is a cosy retreat and the perfect entertainment space for the whole family.

Upstairs, enjoy big mountain views from each of the 5 bedrooms. The master bedroom is complete with ensuite, his & hers shower and vanity, with an additional 3 double bedrooms and cosy bunkroom ensuring there’s plenty of room to accommodate up to 12 guests.

Fully tiled with designer fittings and under-floor heating, the main bathroom features a toilet, deep bath and walk-in shower. An additional separate shower room and toilet ensures there’s never a queue in the morning!
