PAJARO DUNES CONDO. VIEWS TO MONTEREY.

Pelican 75 brought back wonderful memories of when my husband & I stayed at Pajaro! This condo, was a perfect beginning for new memories for me, as this was my first visit back to the Dunes after my husband passed away! It was more than I expected! The condo is warm & comfy, clean & inviting, wanting of nothing! The nice part also, was that it is located on the ground level, so it was easily accessible to my sisterinlaw who has a bad hip. Lauri was friendly and easy to work with. All you need to bring is your food/snacks and your clothing. Everything else is there! The outside grill was great for our lamb chops, and we had a delicious corned beef for dinner! We took a long walk on the beach before dinner and after breakfast. It was a perfect weekend, in a perfect condo, in a perfect place! Mahalo, we're looking forward to coming back as much as we can!

We had a MAH-velous time at Pelican 75 over the weekend of my 70th birthday! As the listing said, nobody wants to leave and now I know why. This home is so lovely, cozy , cute, comfortable, and downright "homey"!! Two days there feels like an entire week's vacation! Even the weather cooperated: The weather reports on TV and on line both said "partly cloudy Fri/Sat, and a 30% chance of showers on Sunday". It was chilly but the sun felt wonderful and there was not a cloud in the sky all three days.
Our stay was SO relaxing and also very informative with all the posters and pictures of various local plants and birds. We enjoyed reading the journal entries of previous guests.
We never turned on the TV, spent a lot of time on the deck or walking the dunes (my cousin is recuperating from foot surgery but was so glad she took those walks). We both felt so spiritually moved and rejuvenated watching the ocean and the birds.
The owner was very accommodating in allowing me to make last-minute reservations.
We went to Monterey to the Butterfly Sanctuary and plan on returning sometime in mid-February to try to catch the migration of the Monarchs and the whales. Of course, that will depend on weather. (We forgot to take binoculars and thought there might be a pair there. Next time, I'll take a pair along to leave for other guests.) I hope to stay in this home again.
We brought meats from home and went to the produce market at the Whole Enchilada (about 7 miles further south; also has a large deli and a Mexican restaurant) before going to the unit. We loaded up on fruits, nuts and veggies and also brought home a cooler loaded with veggies. Everything else was provided at the unit, including a very extensive array of herbs, spices, teas and coffees. (I loved being so close to that market; it's the best I've found.)
We also loved being able to explore north to Santa Cruz/Capitola and south to Monterey/Carmel (20 miles each). When the days get longer, we'll want to go exploring down to Big Sur.
I had told my cousin that we were gonna spend the weekend in Sonora (Sierra Foothills). It took her a few minutes on the road to register that we were headed south, not east. At that point I just said "it's a surprise". Her birthday is also this week so this place was a totally mind-blowing treat to be on the beach (an easy walk to the shore)! All in all, it was the BEST birthday we've each had in YEARS!!

I am down at Pelican 75 now with my wife and two young kids during this Christmas to New Year holiday season. We are loving it here. What a beautiful location, and so close to the Bay Area (just one hour from mid-Peninsula!).

Pajaro Dunes is a community of condos and multi million dollar houses along a strip of Northern California coast which is surrounded by farmland, so as you approach the community, you drive by fields of strawberries, artichokes, and brussel sprouts. Once inside, you feel like you're completely isolated and completely at peace. This property boasts a beautiful, wide sandy beach with very few beach-goers, since it's a private beach for the property.

The unit itself is uniquely situated on the edge of the property, affording it views of both the ocean and a wide river that runs into the ocean. There's a deck with a cozy table off the back of the unit for a glass of wine in the late afternoon. This unit is amazingly well-equipped. You will find everything you could possibly think of required to cook in the kitchen, including an array of pots and pans, a cabinet of spices, numerous cooking utensils, and even a Crockpot. Likewise, the rest of the unit is comfortably decorated with plenty of extra pillows, towels, and blankets in the closet and tasteful furnishings. The unit also has a fireplace where you can burn Pres-to-Logs. When we arrived, we found the unit had been well-cleaned with every consideration accounted for. For example, we brought our own laundry detergent for the washer but it turns out this wasn't required, as Lauri thoughtfully provided laundry detergent next to the washer.

Lauri, the owner of the property, was super friendly and accommodating throughout the booking process. She sent us a bunch of information in advance so we were well-prepared and even recommended some places we could take our kids.

The unit is also super safe for families since Pajaro Dunes is a gated community.

We would absolutely recommend a stay at Pelican 75 and hope to return again!
