This furnished upper unit is located on the Shanty Creek Resort next to the Lakeview Hotel & Conference Center. Enjoy an affordable weekend, week, or month away at this furnished extended stay efficiency studio. The Windcliff condos overlook Lake Bellaire. This remodeled unit will give you beautiful accommodations at one of Northern Michigan's popular Golf and Ski resorts. Bellaire is in the heart of Vacation country just 45 miles northeast of Traverse City. The Condo is a short walk from the clubhouse for The Legend and Summit golf courses. In the winter just walk across the parking lot and you're ready ski at Summit or board the shuttle to Schuss Mountain. Downhill skiers and snow boarders will enjoy the free shuttle to the Schuss Mountain runs every 15 minutes all day. It's a 5 minute ride. Golf the popular 'Chief' or 'Hawk's Eye' within 5 minutes drive.

The condo is located at the Shanty Creek Resort next to the Lakeview Hotel & Conference Center, about 2 miles from Bellaire Michigan. Bellaire is in the heart of Northern Michigan's vacation country. The condo is just 45 miles NE of Traverse City the home of Cherry Capital Airport and the popular Cherry Blossom festival at the beginning of July. Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and Mackinaw Island make great day trips. It is only a 5 minute drive to the Summit Village Beach Club on Lake Bellaire. The sandy beach and playground at the Beach Club are great for families with children. There is a public boat launch next to the beach club. Lake Bellaire will provide good inland lake fishing in season. See Further Details below. In late September and early October the fall colors are beautiful. You can spend a couple of days driving around Northern Michigan and taking in it's breathless beauty.

Notes: The Indoor pool and Jacuzzi hot-tub are located at the Lakeview Hotel next door to the condo. Outdoor jacuzzi hot-tub and change room is available to guests at Schuss Mountain Hotel(5 minute drive). All our summer guests have free use of the Summit Village Beach Club on Lake Bellaire (about 5 minute drive from the condo). It has a nice sandy beach, playground, charcoal BBQ's, and is next to a public boat launch. The tennis court is available to all our guests (located next to Summit village club house) Wireless internet is available in the condo. Cell phone reception is good for most carriers, Tracfone reception is excellent and a tracfone is provided. Tracfone airtime cards are not provided but are available at the local grocery store. An additional unit may be available. This is a 2nd floor unit with stairs and no elevator

Skiing: Schuss Mountain features four quad chair lifts, 37 runs, 450' of vertical, redesigned terrain park, new half pipe, and night skiing. Summit offers downhill skiing, terrain park, and beginner lessons. Cedar River has a tubing run available to all Shanty Creek Resort guests. The 30 km of X-country trails are groomed, and will be a delight for the beginner or advanced skier. Just walk across the parking lot to take free shuttle to Schuss Mountain ski area and Cedar River tubing park. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes. It's a 5 minute ride to downhill and X-country skiing at Schuss Mountain.

Golfing: The area is a Golfer's paradise with 7 Great Golf courses within 10 minutes drive of the condo. The Shanty Creek Resort has 4 Championship Courses. Walk from the condo to the clubhouse for The Legend and Summit golf courses. Golf the championship Cedar River course designed by Tom Weiskoph, or The Legend designed by Arnold Palmer. Also golf the popular area courses: ‘The Chief', 'Hawk's Eye', or Bellaire Golf course all within 10 minutes drive of condo.

Resort & Area Amenities: The Resort amenities available free to condo guests are: indoor swimming pool & jacuzzi hot-tub, outdoor swimming pool, & tennis. Also located on the resort: Lakeview Restaurant, Gift shop, Fitness center and spa (in the Lakeview Hotel - a daily use fee is required). A number of restaurants are located in Bellaire only 5 minutes drive from the condo. Summit Village Beach Club on Lake Bellaire with nice sandy beach, playground, and charcoal grills is available free to all guests. There is a public boat launch next the the Summit Village Beach Club. Boat rentals on Lake Bellaire, and current fishing conditions are available through Riverside Marina (231-533-8559). Kayak, raft, and canoe rental on the Jordan River are available through Jordan Valley Outfitters (231-536-0006).

I stayed at extended stay condo at Shanty creek the first week in August (weekdays) and my family of four had a great time. It was easy to rent, my first time through the HomeAway website, and the owner called back right away. The condo was the right size for the four of us and had everything we needed to be comfortable --kitchen, balcony, table that seated 4, tv & dvd, comfy bed and pull-out couch. We had access to the beach and pools and a great view of lake Bellaire right from the window. I couldn't have asked for a better & more economical family get-away and would do it again.
Owner's Response: It was great to have you stay at our condo at Shanty Creek. We would love to have you stay with us again in the fall or winter. The colors are spectacular in the area usually about the first week of October.
