Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring, take in breathtaking westerly views of very private Niquette's Bay near Mallette's bay in Colchester Vermont. The lovely post and beam home features a modern kitchen, air-conditioning, wireless high-speed internet, washer/dryer, outdoor brink oven, an amazing over-sized floating dock and 100 feet of waterfront. Melt away in a soothing soak in your private hot tub overlooking the tranquil lake views.
Truely the best of both words; enjoy the undisturbed natural tranquility nestled deep in the woods along a private road, while being just minutes from fine dining, shopping and entertainment offered by Burlington Vermont's Church Street Marketplace and downtown.
Summer time: Enjoy excellent fishing, boating and exploring Lake Champlain just steps from your back door. Relax sunbathing or enjoying the view while fishing with off from your private dock. The water is clean, clear and refreshing offering a cozy sandy bottom.
Winter: Snowmobile to the VAST trail less than a mile from your door. Or zip up to the Mountain less than an hour away! (Stowe, Smugglers Notch, or Bolton Valley - VT's best ski resorts just minutes away). Ice fisherman look no further - Niquette's bay is the known to be the best on the lake, but so private that it's nearly impossible to gain access, but you'll only walk a few steps to the frozen lake!
The Lake Lodge is really a great vacation spot. Whether relaxing by the fire indoors is your thing or venturing out onto the lake, which was frozen during our stay, there's something for everyone. Kyle is a great host as well. I hope we go back....You want to stay here!
Great cottage on a secluded path with magnificient view and super dock to enjoy the lake.
Thank God for google map. This place is perfect if you are looking for a quiet but very comfortable get away. The lake view is mesmerizing, dock and lake access is great. Can't wait to come back.
We rented the property for a week in the spring to get away from it all (no husbands, no kids = heaven!) The property is exactly as depicted in the pictures and the kitchen is perfectly stocked to make cooking easy (all the basic tools plus some, and lots of condiments and extras, no need to buy your own).
Close to Burlington so we could wander out and shop, dine, tour. Lots to do at the cabin if we didn't feel like leaving (board games, walks on the road, hot tub, wi-fi). My only complaint would be that there was only a Keurig, no coffee maker; I do realize that is probably a bonus for a lot of people!
Both Pearse and Kyle were extremely accommodating and friendly. We would come back again in a heartbeat. And perhaps even bring the husbands and kids next time!
Lovely house, fabulous setting.
Note: The fireplace is featured in the photos, in fact the description list two fireplaces and firewood, yet once you arrive guest are asked not to use them. This should be clarified.
We are a Dutch family living for a year in the Boston area for work. Apart from work and school, we use this year also to explore New England, and after visits to the Berkshires, New Hampshire, Cape Cod it was now time to explore Vermont. We picked this property because of its location: near Burlington, and overlooking the lake.
From the moment we stepped in the house, we loved it. Our children (5,7,8 and 10) went straight up to the loft (with two double beds and a lot of toys), and we spend an hour on the deck in the first sun of this spring. What a view!
The house itself is very nicely decorated and very comfortable. There were plenty of towels, kitchen utensils and space in and around the house. We loved it. And the hot tub is definitely a huge bonus.
Also surroundings were nice. Lot's to see and do, even in an off season period.
If we would have time left this year, we'd definitely go again.
