Disney Vacation with the Grandparents

The condo was clean, comfortable, affordable, and the location was ideal for travel back-and-forth to the Disney parks. We had four adults and two children in our party and there was plenty of room for the six of us. The kitchen was functional but not very well appointed in terms of cookware and utensils. The resort grounds were pretty, well-maintained, and the Clubhouse was an added convenience. I have a few complaints, however. First, check-in was sloppy and disorganized. I had to request check-in info from the owner at the last minute because it was never sent at booking. Some of the information I received was incorrect, specifically, the code for the lift gate to get through security was wrong! Next, I paid for pool heat and there was clearly a disconnect between the owner and management as the pool was not heated and it took four days and to fix. The townhome needs more poolside seating. There was only one lounger which was in bad condition...no table, no chairs. Most of the surrounding units had much better outdoor seating options. Lastly, and this is not a complaint but more of an observation, the unit is situated very far away from the clubhouse and resort pool. It's defintely a long walk for kids. Despite all this, we had a good trip and enjoyed our stay.

1. "kitchen (cookware and utensils) was not well appointed"
Having accommodated hundreds of satisfied guests over the past 4 years, yours is the first complaint regarding our kitchen. I cannot speak to what you are accustomed to in a vacation property, but I can assure you that we are licensed, and our kitchen amenities exceed Florida state regulations. If there is anything specific you were lacking (over and above the dinner plates, dessert plates, dinner bowls, glasses, wine glasses, coffee mugs, pots, pans, pot holders, placemats, serving jugs, serving dishes, baking sheets, utensils, spatulas, knives, wine bottle openers, fruit peelers, cheese graters, small appliances, etc.), the onsite management company is always available to assist you.
2. "check-in info was never sent at booking"
We sent your confirmation and check-in information via email at 2:57pm CST on Dec 9, 2012 immediately upon receiving payment from you. When you contacted us later in Feb to say you had not received it, we immediately re-sent that same information to you.
3. "the gate code was wrong"
The gate code supplied to you with both of your confirmations was "2**0" (blocked here for security reasons). That code was correct, and continues to be used by our guests without difficulty. Regardless, should any guest have difficulty there is 24 hr gate security, and just as you discovered, all confirmed guests are granted access.
4. "the pool was not heated and took four days to fix"
We investigated this immediately when you reached us on Feb 20, and discovered that the pool heat had in fact been turned on prior to your arrival. The issue stemmed from unseasonably cool temp’s during your stay, not from any faulty equipment or mismanagement. Once the ambient temp drops below 55F, the heaters automatically shut off. Although we cannot control outside temp’s, we do understand your disappointment.
5. "only one lounger…"
You will see from our website photos that we have added new patio furniture for future guests to enjoy.
6. "the unit is situated very far away from the clubhouse"
Many of our guests appreciate the fact that this property is close, but not adjacent to, the Clubhouse. As a result, you can enjoy low foot traffic and privacy around our property.
