Difficult owner-house not in great condition
Below is a partial list of issues at the house. Some of this may have been overlooked if the owner wasn't so difficult to deal with. From the moment of the first deposit he was interested only in payments and number of people in the house at a time. I had hoped to have a big relaxing house to allow family from the area to come and go and this is Not the house for that. One might have understood his concern if the property and furnishings were in great condition, but this house has not been well taken care of, perhaps the owner has been burned by former renters but being a conscientious renter it was insulting to be treated as if we were "out to get him". Additionally my niece and nephew contracted "hot tub folicilitus" and had to be treated with antibiotics. There are other houses to choose from...go elsewhere.
No bath mats
No bathroom trash containers
1 towel rack per bath..no hand towel racks
Dirty furniture/ rugs
Decking splitting/ splinter hazard
Ancient/ cheap comforters
Owner's Response: The review reflects the alternate home this tenant rented to accommodate overcrowding not 3021738. The point noted in this review reflecting 3021738 is that home and the owner were not able to accommodate 14 additional persons staying at the property inferred by tenant as coming/going/bedswapping which is a liability to any home, total 32.
This review is not credible and is an attempt to circumvent the main issue of having 32 persons on the property breaking a lease agreement, thus this posting this 7 months later. The tenants loved the home and the location to the lake. Once advised they had to keep to their lease agreement of 18 they had to find lodging for the 14 other persons and that was the issue.
*Hot tubs are filled with 300 gallons of fresh water for each tenant.
*Houses have AC and screens are not required on all windows.
*Decks are sealed yearly *New comforters were installed prior to arrival.
This tenant never contacted the property manager for any issue during their stay and stated they had a Fantastic time at the property.
They were thanked for leaving the home in good condition and the security deposit was returned in Full.
There are limitations to Septic and Insurance. They did not understand their group was too large for the property and had they been up front about expecting 32 persons to be on the property, conducting parties, regardless of sleeping or bedswapping this was not acceptable and a safety issue.
The owner would not have rented to this group had they been truthful about their intention on how they expected to utilize the home. This home is a beautiful home as noted, spacious, managed and constantly updated with new items. As the owner and property manager were nothing but cordial and helpful to this tenant and this review in Unwarranted.
Further even though the tenant rented an alternate home for the additional persons, they continued to conduct dinner parties with large groups on a daily basis, using and abusing the property.
