Puerto Morelos is a quaint village that is nestled between the two major resorts on the Mayan Riviera-Cancun & Playa del Carmen, providing you with a unique Mexican vacation. There are so many activities you will wish you had a longer time to stay! Your hosts are Kim and Jim, originally from the United States, and their well behaved adopted Mexican puppy, Guapo. Mi Casa Es Su Casa... so come on down & enjoy your own little piece of paradise in Puerto Morelos Mexico.
This house was built by my father in 1992 and when our family was not enjoying it ourselves we rented the entire house out as a vacation home. I recently moved to Puerto Morelos and am now running the house as a bed and breakfast.
Kim Risolo purchased this villa in 1992
You can now enjoy the benefits of staying in a large 3,000 square foot Mexican Villa without the cost of renting the entire house.
My husband and I with our 4 year old daughter had a fantastic stay at Kim and Jim's wonderful B&B! The king room was spacious and we loved having such a large bed with a patio and huge bathroom. The roof terrace was beautiful and the location was nice and quiet compared to staying closer to town. It's a nice walk into town and there are also bikes. Kim and Jim were great and very helpful with all our questions. Breakfast was simple but plentiful, healthy and tasty, especially the home made granola and fresh fruit each morning. Our daughter loved our time there and we're so glad we stayed. Book and enjoy! :)
One of the best holidays we have ever had. The house is beautiful - clean, roomy, bright, at the end of a quiet street, a short stroll from a lovely beach. The hospitality was excellent, lovely fresh fruit and sumptuous breakfasts to start the day, a warm welcome at all times and help with our every need - including first-rate and prompt medical assistance when I suffered a freak accident on the beach. Kim's tips on where to go and what to visit were spot on and helped make a great holiday something really special. Can't recommend this place enough.
We stayed here 3 nights at the beginning of October. While we had been to Mexico before, we had not been to Puerto Morelos. It's a cool little town! Kim and Jim were amazing; meeting us when we arrived, making sure we had everything that we needed, taught my 4-year-old daughter how to clean a pool (which she loved," they made us what my daughter said was "the best breakfast that she ever had" with fresh fruit, local honey, yogurt, and pastries, home-made granola....how can it possibly get any better!? They went into town and rented a bike with a child seat on it before we arrived so that it would be ready for us upon arrival. I had a situation arise at work and needed to print documents. Kim was gracious and generous and offered to let me use her computer to print some documents. I am 100% sure that we will go back again - we loved this place! Although, I think we will rent the room that has the balcony this time! Thank you so much, Kim and Jim!
Kim and Jim are excellent hosts and very informative during our first visit to mexico. Breakfast was delicious and healthy offering local made breads, yogurts, juices, jungle honey and more.... The pool offered cool shady refreshment during the heat and sun of midday and the rooms spacious and clean. We spent every morning and evening on the roof under the palapa swinging in the hammocks... They had great suggestions for local eats and things to do and see in town. Highly recommend them as a first time stay, especially with kids as the accomodations are close to town center and an easy walk to the beach... My daughter enjoyed chatting with Kim every morning and Kim and Jim were very warm and welcoming to us all! Thanks to you both for opening your home to us!
We were totally satisfied and loved our 1 week stay and will definitely stay there again. I had a spacious bedroom with a likewise big bathroom.
I loved the balcony on which I enjoyed my quiet time.
We had our own fridge which was filled with plenty of food and since we had 2 kids with us it was very convenient to make our breakfast, or lunch and dinner in the big kitchen.
The place is very family friendly which was important to us, and the owners even became our friends. I recommend this vacation house, the beach is only a couple of minutes away.
We had the pleasure of staying at Casa de los Suenos , in the small, laid-back, fisherman's town of Puerto Morelos for one week. We had an absolutely wonderful time visiting, and the hosts, Kim and Jim, just added to our perfect week. The casa is located close to "downtown", and with a brief walk you're in the middle of the town square. Puerto Morelos is located half-way between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, and is a great little area for those seeking a quiet and relaxing beach getaway.
We stayed in the king bedroom which is very spacious. There is a large balcony opening up to lush green trees and the swimming pool below. There is a nice cross breeze that blows through the bedroom which helps to keep the room cool (if not using the AC unit). The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the home is located in a quiet area. As the other reviewer mentioned, a daily breakfast is provided consisting of fresh fruit, baked breads, home-made granola, juices, coffee...all very delicious. Kim and Jim were very gracious and made us feel at home.
The roof top is a wide open terrace which has a beautiful ocean view and plenty of room to relax in hammocks and chairs. The swimming pool is great for a quick cool down after a day of exploring. There are a few bikes that are available which we found to be invaluable. While Puerto Morelos is small and easy to get around on foot, the bikes made for a fun way to explore the entire town.
The casa is located only a few blocks from the sand and this portion of the beach is a great spot for swimming and snorkeling in the turquoise water. We went snorkeling through "Delphine", which is a little dive shop located at the other end of town and will take you out to the reef by boat. It is owned and operated by a very ocean-passionate French lady. One of her guides, Mauricio, took us out for an unforgettable snorkeling adventure at the reef. We highly recommend using their services (Kim can provide you with their info).
We had a wonderful time and have nothing but the best to say about our stay at Casa de los Suenos.
Puerto Morelos is living at it's best! Puerto Morelos has been joyfully missed by the big developers, so our town has stayed a delightful mix of Mexican and Mayan families, Americans and various other nationalities that all want to experience the special life and energy that this noted spiritual vortex of the world offers. We have a great assortment of restaurants, plus Internet cafes with faxes and printers, gift shops, money exchanges, travel agents, liquor store, car rentals, water sport equipment rentals and boats for snorkeling or diving… Horseback riding, golf, boating, golf, tennis, great shopping, lots of great varied restaurants, day and night life of Cancun, Playa del Carmen's pedestrian walk, Islands of Cozumel and Isle Mujeres, Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Tres Rios, Mayan ruins, Cenotyes, water and amusement parks... the options are endless for a fabulous holiday!
