Settle into our modern and comfortable three bedroom villa within the confines of a secured resort and just 10 minutes from South Africa's flagship Kruger National Park (KNP). This self-catering unit, in Hazyview, offers a fully equipped kitchen with spacious open plan living and dining rooms, three full bathrooms, and a large outdoor deck with braai/BBQ. One en-suite bedroom has a king bed, another has two twin beds with its own bathroom while the third en-suite upstairs has two twin beds. All bedrooms have air-conditioning and block out curtains. Our self-catering kitchen will meet all your needs including a coffee machine, toaster, microwave, electric kettle, stove, oven and dishwaher.
Sip your favorite drink while enjoying the South African sunset over the mountains from the romantic, shaded balcony off the upstairs bedroom. Among the resort’s many amenities are a golf course, tennis courts, a hippo hide and plenty of kids' activities. Our villa is a minute’s walk from one of the resort’s three swimming pools (not the main one so less busy) and close enough to the hippo hide to hear them grunt at night. The villa is located near three supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and shops. Only 10 minutes away, KNP’s Phabeni entrance gate is one of the few that offer guided night drives to safari enthusiasts not staying inside the game reserve.
The open plan living and dining rooms give the downstairs an airy feel with views of the outside and easy access to the patio via two sliding doors. A large wooden deck with built-in grill/braai is an ideal entertainment area and a lovely way to the end the day. Double covered parking is available. A nine-hole 18 Tee Gary Player designed golf course, three swimming pools, and a restaurant are also on site. All bed linens and bathroom towels are provided. The lounge offers a wide selection of DStv channels on our flat screen TV.
Guests have access to all the following amenities provided at The Kruger Park Lodge:
‘Big Five’ game drives
4 tennis courts
Gary Player 9-hole (18 Tee) golf course and driving range
Conference facilities for up to 40 delegates
3 swimming pools
We are Heeten and Jenny and we own Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge. Heeten is from South Africa and Jenny is from Sweden. We have two kids and have enjoyed the wildlife and safaris for many years. We enjoy self-drive safaris and believe this is a wonderful way to enjoy the world famous Kruger National Park.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this lodge in 2012
Owning Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge is realizing a dream we have had for many years. Both our families love wildlife and are passionate about going on safaris -- we have been on safari in Kenya, Tanzania, and -- of course -- South Africa. We are so 'wild' about Kruger National Park in particular, that we even got married at a bush camp in the park!
The Kruger Park Lodge is a development with many amenities and this remains one of the main reasons we bought a place here. The place is immaculate and well maintained.
We wanted to find a home that gave us easy access to the Kruger Park. The Phabeni Gate is 10 minutes away so we can enter the park easily and come back to relax at the lodge.
To us, being in Kruger is at once peaceful and exhilarating: it is wonderful to be disconnected from the buzz of the internet and telephones, and to just take in the unique sounds, sights, smells, the air. And nothing beats the excitement of being the ones to spot a leopard or hear a herd of 200 buffalo thundering past the car. There is truly a satisfaction and excitement in spotting animals on your own, feeling like you are really in a wildlife documentary.
Not much room for improvement as it is close to perfect. Consider a permanent ramp for wheelchair access
This is a great place to be, close to Kruger for self-drives and/or guided safaris. House is great, on the golf course which is a very interesting place to play. Owner is great to work with, easy to make reservations and helps with plans for getting there and information on safari, local shopping and restaurants. On the drive from Jo’berg, we stopped as suggested at Milly’s and it was exactly what we needed as we were still a bit apprehensive about driving in S.A. We arrived at Kruger Park Lodge with no difficulties and were happy to be there. The entire complex was enjoyable and the staff in the lodge were very friendly and accommodating. We ate one dinner and a lunch there and the food was nice. We walked all over the complex and really enjoyed the different houses and sections of entertainment areas. Our favorite was the river and the hippo hide. We even played 9 holes of golf one day, renting clubs as we had not brought our own. The home is so comfortable and so well located close to Kruger and shopping and dining. It does not get any better!
We have just spend our Christmas and New Year in South Africa with our daughters and their partners.
We rented Swagat from Heeten and it was fantastic. Heeten was so helpful and everything worked perfect.
The service of Kruger Park Lodge was extremely professional. The house is modern with modern appliances. We used the barbecue and even cooked christmas dinner there.
It was really nice staying in a compound in the evening. we used the swimming pool near by, we could look at golfers playing right outside our windows. It was just so good.
We can only recommend Swagat and the description of it on the internet, fits perfectly.
The whole package was complete at Swagat Lodge.
Starting with excellent contact with the owner, which didn’t stop after payment but actually increased, complements for that Heetan.
Especially thinking we miscalculated our stay by one day, but even that was solved before we realized.
The accommodation met all our expectations, and more.
The park is beautiful, quiet and we felt at home far away from home.
Thank you, and we will defiantly be back.
Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge is a wonderful self-catering unit, 10 minutes down a colorful road to the Kruger Park. The accommodations were perfect: a roomy thatched house with deck and brie, immaculate, tasteful, well-equipped and easy to come and go from. There's a hippo hide across the way where we watched hippos and egrets playing at sunset. The nearby Phabeni Gate to Kruger leads you to one of the best stretches for wildlife viewing in the park--in four days, we saw the big 5 and the magnificent 7, plus marvelous birds. Hazyview has local shops and some great places to eat: Summerfields Kitchen is top notch; also check out Sabie River Coffee and Topolinos pizza. Coming back to the lodge each day was a delight. We can't wait to go back.
This was our third stay at Swagat, our home away from home. We keep going back because it's the perfect vacation venue for our family. There's the spectacular Kruger park, the spa and great food at nearby Summerfields, golf, swimming.... The lodge itself is spacious and comfortable. We'll be back before long!
The on-site Hippo Hide is a fun and relaxing way to observe hippos in the water. Our lodge is ideal to explore the Panorama Route and the Blyde River Canyon -- the third largest canyon in the world. Add fun activities likes zip lining, white water rafting, and a visit to an elephant sanctuary or a cheetah farm to your trip.
