LOCATION OF THE HOUSE:
It's situated half way between busy and fun Montezuma and laid back from beautiful Cabuya.
3km or 2 miles south of Montezuma and 3km or 2 miles north of Cabuya
MONTEZUMA a little beach town on the south east coast of Nicoya Peninsula.It boasts a beautiful Waterfall which is a 20min hike up the river;beautiful wild beaches; zip line canopy tour with spectacular views; panga boats to Tortuga Island for snorkling.Saturday morning market where you can purchase organic veggies and local products.
Dining in Montezuma is surprisingly diverse pizza,tico restaurants,gourmet restaurants.There are boutiques, souvenirs shops and tour offices for booking tours.
CABUYA small fishing village where you can meet Native ticos. It is less touristy than Montezuma .You can eat in typical sodas (small Costa Rican restaurants )and see the fish man and buy the catch of the day.
For nature lovers there is the Cabo Blanco reserve which is 2 km from the village.Cabuya is unique in having a cemetery located on an uninhabited Island which is accessible only at low tide.
How to get to ESTRELLA if you have no car;from Montezuma or Cabuya local bus runs regulary during the day or taxi or 45 minute walk along the beach. You can also rent bike and scooter in town.
From San Jose to Montezuma you can come by:
-Direct bus to Montezuma leaving San Jose 6am and 2pm around 6hours trip.Then taxi or local bus to Solyluna 15 mn drive.
- Regular bus to Puntarenas from San Jose every 1hours then ferry at Puntarenas then bus to Montezuma if not late evening. From Montezuma taxi or local bus,15mn drive.
-Shuttle see Montezuma expedition around 6 hours trip. From your hotel in San Jose to SolyLuna.
-Private taxi around 5 hours.
-Fly to Tambor one hour then taxi one hour .
-Car rental.
-Bus to Jaco then taxi boat around 10am to Montezuma then taxi to Estrella house.
If you are landing in Costa Rica after 1 pm you will have to considered to sleep one night in San Jose or Liberia.Must of the transport are leaving in the morning.
