Come to the North Georgia Mountains and enjoy our cozy cabin hideaway - Bear Bottoms. Nestled in a beautiful woodland setting not far outside of the little college town of Young Harris, Georgia, you will find lots to enjoy both inside and out of this great cabin.
As you drive down to the cabin at the bottom, you will find parking for two cars or more with a paved driveway which makes for easy access year round. You can play a bit of basketball right outside on a nicely paved area or step up to the wrap-around porch with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air and quiet setting or you can soak in the large hot tub on the back side of the porch. The basement below has another covered porch to sit and enjoy looking at the sweeping stretch of lawn where the kids can run and play in the backyard. Also outside is a stone fire pit to enjoy a crackling fire and roast some marshmallows.
Once inside, you will find a nicely decorated cabin which sleeps up to ten with a spacious floor plan to include plenty of personal space with a large bedroom and bath on each level. The bedrooms on the main level and upper level are furnished with beautifully dressed queen-sized beds. The lower level bedroom contains two queen-sized beds. The loft upstairs has a great sitting area with a couch and comfy leather chair. The game room downstairs is equipped with a television, games, a full-sized pool table and a sleeper sofa.
The living room has a cathedral ceiling with a stacked stone, gas-log fireplace and hardwood floors and a large flat screen satellite TV mounted above the mantle. The kitchen has an eat-in dining area for four while the kitchen bar provides seating for an additional two. You will find the kitchen to be fully equipped with just about everything you may need to prepare great meals at home - just bring the food you want to eat. The charcoal grill and smoker are right outside on the upper deck so that you can grill up something yummy.
If all of this is not enough to keep you busy, there are tons of activities in the area with a little country store just down the road to browse and shop. The cabin is convenient to whitewater rafting and kayaking just over the border in nearby Tennessee or North Carolina as well as unlimited water activities on Lake Nottely in Blairsville or Lake Chatuge in Hiawasse. Other nearby attractions are tubing in Helen, Cabbage Patch Doll Factory in Cleveland and Horseback Riding in Blairsville. You can pan for gems or gold or tour gold mines in historic Dahlonega, hike the nearby Appalachian Trail, tour the vineyards of either of two area wineries, visit scenic Vogel Park, Helton Falls, Ana Ruby Falls and many others, or Brasstown Bald - the highest mountain in Georgia. Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, home of the famous Fall Festival, is located just 20 minutes away.
