This house was designed by the owner and custom-built with every detail in mind in 2012. Modeled after the homeowner's taste for Charleston-style architecture, custom wood-finishes outside and in catch the eye of every visitor.
The home is situated on a third of an acre atop a hill in the up-and-coming Elmhurst Heights. Remodels and new homes align this incredibly quiet street. But this one takes the cake.
After entering onto the front porch and as you walk through the front door, you're immediately drawn into the openness of the downstairs. The living room, dining and kitchen all flow together as one, offering an amazing community space for guests to enjoy one another. Eucalyptus wood floors, white cabinetry and trim shine from all the natural light provided by the dual french doors and large windows opening into the area. State-of-the-art appliances and a gorgeous backsplash add to the appeal. A 51' TV sits over the gas fireplace, and is tied to a surround sound system throughout the living room, providing additional entertainment to guests.
The music doesn't stop there. Two outdoors speakers are mounted over the back patio where guests can enjoy outdoor dining and a gas grill for barbeque. The large backyard is perfect for enjoying Austin's pleasant fall and spring seasons.
Back inside, the downstairs offers one bedroom with a queen bed and large closet, as well as full bath. The bathroom has a full-size shower with a bench inside.
As you head to the top of the stairs, you'll arrive at the master bedroom. It's furnished with a king-sized bed, 42' flat-screen TV, and has two french doors that open up to a private balcony looking out onto the front yard. From here you can actually see the UT Football Stadium year-round and the rolling hills of East Austin. And during the cooler months when the trees have lost their leaves, there are actually some views of downtown. Connected to the master bedroom is a gorgeous double-vanity bath with a sitting area perfect for the lady. A beautiful clawfoot tub will only make her happier, and there's an additional walk-in shower as well.
Out of the master and down the hallway, you'll pass the utility room with a brand new washer/dryer, and come upon a nice sitting room furnished with a desk and small surround-sound wiring for your laptop or iPhone.
Just a few steps away is the 3rd and final bedroom. Inside is an old, antique full-sized bed complimented by a giant chest of drawers. On top sits another 42' flat-screen TV. A walk-in closet is provided. Adjoining this bedroom is the 3rd bathroom, complete with a tub.
An attached, two-car garage adds to the home's overall appeal. Free wireless Internet and full cable package are just a couple more perks that don't come often in your average hotel.
You'll be amazed by the attention to detail in this beautiful 2,200 sf new home.
Elmhurst Heights is a beautiful, small neighborhood that rests just east of IH-35 on the south side of Lady Bird Lake. Tall trees and rolling hills define the area, and provide awesome views of the Downtown skyline.
With Travis Heights as its western neighbor, the ever-popular South Congress Ave (SoCo) is just 1 mile away and perfect for shopping and dining. Delicious food trailers and outdoor vendors have turned SoCo into one of the most vibrant parts of town.
Less than a half-mile from the house and to the north sits Lady Bird Lake, with miles and miles of hike and bike trails and scenic views. Locals and tourists can be found in abundance here, enjoying Auditorium Shores, Butler Park, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and even fishing.
One can actually travel westward from the house and along the lakeshore just 3 miles to Zilker Park, the home of the annual ACL Music Festival as well as the chilly Barton Springs.
On the other side of the lake, just 2 miles to the northwest, is the heart of Downtown Austin. The world-famous 6th Street runs through its center with dozens of hopping bars frequented by college students, Austin locals, and plenty of out-of-towners.
If you want a night out on the town but prefer to stear clear of the huge crowd, you can start at the 2nd Street District or Warehouse District on 4th St. Both have tons of award-winning restaurants, as well as tried and true bars that regularly host live music. The Moody Theatre at the W Hotel is the most popular of course, as the new site of all live ACL tapings of artists known the world over.
More on entertainment: the uber-trendy Rainy Street is another favorite for locals, offering a unique atmosphere of food trailers, patio bars, house-convert watering holes, and lounges. Best of all, Rainy is less than 2 miles away.
These days, it's never a bad idea to make your way down to the East Side. 6th and 7th Streets both run east of IH-35 and make up this new happening district. Austinites old and new love to hop over here to enjoy casual eats, dive bars, and local bands.
Don't kid yourself. You can literally walk, bike, take a pedi-cab, taxi, or drive and be wherever you're going in just a few blocks or minutes.
A UT Football Game? The campus is only 3 miles to the north.
The Formula 1 Grand Prix? The track is located 8 miles east of downtown. This house is between the two.
