Spend a weekend between Christmas and New Year eve in the great place. Enough space in each bedroom and common area. Great view outside and quiet inside. We had a great time in this getaway place.
It has all the basics such as kitchen and dining room stuff, towels and blankets etc. We brought some for us just in case but those are not necessary.
Great owener very friendly and helpful during our stay. Will come back in the future.
We made out first visit to Valley Meadows and it won't be the last. The farm house is wonderfully comfortable and quiet, The hosts are very friendly and maintain a clean and beautiful property. It is a great place to be alone or with a group and base acivities in Western MD.
We have come to Valley Meadow Acres many times over the last few years for both family and "boys only" trips (I have two young boys, 5 and 9) and have had wonderful experiences every time. The location feels so removed from everything even thought you are only a few minutes from the highway. We love coming here becasue the boys can play in the creek, climb/hike in the woods, see lots of nature up close (deer, turkeys, birds, etc), ride bikes on the long stretch of deadend road running through the property, and enjoy starry nights and all the sounds of nature. The setting is so relaxing that we try and come up at least two times a year for a few days at a time. We really like the ability to let the boys run free and explore without worry. The house is comfortable and exactly what you would expect a country farm house to be. It is clean and functional. It has everything you need. This is true country living and that is one of the reasons we keep coming back. You can't go wrong. The location between Hancock and Cumberland allows for quick access to resturants (Weavers in Hancock) and other activities such as riding the Rail Trail bike path in Hancock, going on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland or other fun family activities in the area. Enjoy!!
Each visit, we enjoy this simple farmhouse more. A wonderful getaway from the busyness of life. Favorite activity - walking down the lane to venture into the woods or sit by the ponds. Gorgeous scenery! Hope to be back soon.
