Stay at this beautifully decorated, beach-themed condo with room for eight on the northern edge of busy, fun-filled McCall, and it'll be tough: tough, that is, to choose from all the things to do. To the west is Payette lake and all things aquatic. Directly behind, to the east, is McCall golf course. Directly south is the colorful resort city of McCall where shopping and dining are just footsteps away. And finally, take a hike and check out the great view at Osprey Point in Ponderosa State Park, just a few blocks to the north.
Situated at the end of the complex, this condo has a more secluded feel, an effect enhanced by the stand of pine and aspen trees in the back, with glimpses of the fairway peeking through the branches. The living space is roomy, pleasant, and well-lit from sunlight through big windows. Nautical references abound. The decor is filled with paintings of beach scenes, shells, fish and even a few model sailboats - all reminders that those very things are just outside the door. Fix a cold drink, settle into one of the plush chairs and couches, and listen to some music on the CD player. (Don't forget to bring a couple.) There's a DVD player too so you can enjoy a movie after dinner. On cold nights, throw a couple logs on the fire in the wood fireplace. (You'll find more wood inside the patio closet.)
Your designated chef will feel comfortable at the helm of this kitchen. There's plenty of room in the big double fridge for groceries, lots of cabinet and counter space, and a big area to navigate in so there's no bumping into each other. Enjoy your meal in the dining area where you'll find a wooden, tile-topped table for four with room for two more to belly up at the bar by the kitchen.
Weather permitting, throw some surf and turf on the gas grill out on the patio. Or, there are 30 eateries around McCall where you can buy Christmas ornaments and pancakes, all at the same place, or savor a great Chinese meal on the water.
Aspen Condo has three bedrooms and will accommodate eight people. In one bedroom you'll find a king and a sofa bed. In another, there's a queen. A third bedroom has two twin beds and a big TV to catch a show before bed. (Sorry, no cable.)
Another great feature of this condo is that it's part of the popular Aspen Village community where you'll have access to amenities like a fitness center, swimming, tennis, and racquetball. McCall, of course, has been a go-to resort for decades. If you own a boat or some other watercraft, Payette Lake is the perfect place to let it loose. Hiking and biking trails abound in nearby Ponderosa State Park. Or, make the trip over to Payette National Forest for more wilderness adventures like rafting, kayaking, and fishing. In addition to McCall Golf Course, which is right outside the door of this condo, there's the Jug Mountain and White Tail courses just a few minutes away. Skiers: Brundage mountain and Tamarack resorts are less than an hour away. And, if you're in McCall the end of January, catch the McCall Winter Carnival.
