I am so lucky to be living in a city I love. Six years ago, Paris was the one thing that helped me make the huge switch, leaving behind a promising consulting practice and the tranquil suburban life. Life in France has been filled with more ups than downs. The list of things I love keeps extending, started out with the basics: chocolate and photography. Now adding on are those early mornings along the Seine, the fall colors in the Bois de Boulogne, or the Louvre in the quiet evenings, picnic on Île St-Louis…. And yet, how can I forget the people. That is where I have learned again to cherish the true meaning of love and friendship...
Michelle purchased this apartment in 2012
We invite you to LIVE LIKE A LOCAL in our quarter. Whether you are walking in between the ancient buildings down the narrow streets dotted with historical markers, browsing at the boutique shops which all look like a “museum” of their specialties, or mixing in with the college profs and students in a café nearby, do slow down and enjoy the aroma of the buttery pastries, listen to the surrounding melodic voices, watch the people embrace and kiss, and sink yourselves into the true Parisian life.
Staying at our studio, the Carrefour de l'Odéon is your own living room with so many choices of people watching spots, just a couple of steps from your door. And ...waiting in line to dine at the renowned Le Comptoir is never an issue!
The mezzanine provides a separate sleeping quarter that is private and cozy. It is actually a big plus for a compact size studio, as you can slip into the living room with your coffee in the morning without having to look at a messy bed. ;-)

The studio was exactly as described. It is small but never felt cramped; actually a very efficient and excellent use of space. The location is terrific; right in the heart of the 6th. The neighborhood is terrific. I had one question while I was there and Michelle responded by email within minutes. The place was very clean and efficient. Everything was labeled with a book of instructions on everything. I thought leaving a bottle of wine was a terrific touch. My 21 year old son slept on the hideabed and said it was fine. All in all, a terrific experience. I recommend it and will go back.
This is an extremely clean, very well equipped apartment which has been renovated to a high standard. Its main plus is that it is in a fabulous part of Paris; probably the best located apartment we have ever stayed in.
For us, however the wonderful location (during our recent 7 day stay) was somewhat off-set by the unrelenting noise generated by the next door bar/nightclub that went on until about 2am every night (and until after 5am on Fri night/Sat morning). As the apartment is very narrow we found the need to close the window to try and minimise the impact of the noise made the apartment feel slightly claustrophobic.
I recognise most other reviews have not found this issue a worry, however I raise it just for the sake of 'balance'.
What a great apartment! It is located in a great neighborhood, close to the metro station, amazing restaurants. Even though the apartment is very compact, it is well designed and functional. Michelle had stocked the apartment with water, coffee, a bottle of wine.. all nice touches on arrival while you try to get your bearing of the location. I will totally recommend this place. Will definitely stay here again. FYI... there is no elevator.
I'll make this short simply because it mirrors much of what has been written by others. This apartment is a little gem- really nicely configured/appointed and perfectly located (a block from the Odeon metro) in a fantastic neighborhood. We felt that it to be an excellent value and would stay again if and when we return to Paris.
Yes, the apartment is small but it is quite manageable. Michelle met us early on Saturday and showed us everything we needed to know and made sure we understood that she was available if needed. That is a big plus. Since this was our first time in Paris we were skeptical of the subway, trains, etc., but after our first afternoon we got the hang of it.
The apartment is located less than a 5 minute walk to everything you need - bus, taxi, Metro, several great restaurants, street creperies, ATM, market, convenience store. The apartment is up two flights of stairs but there is a timed light switch for the hallways so we had no problems there. I forgot that city living can be noisy and Paris is no exception. Be prepared to close the window at night for some peace and quiet.
Things we did in Paris: Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, walking tour of Montmarte (highly recommended), took a cooking class in croissant making at La Cuisine (highly recommended), took the train to Normandie for a Victory Tour of Omaha and Utah Beach landings (highly recommended), took the train to Loire Valley for tour with Paris Link (highly recommended) and lots of street walking in the city with dinner in Eiffel Tower, Seine cruise and Moulin Rouge.
I would highly recommend this apartment for your trip to Paris even if it is your first time.
This was the perfect location for our first visit to Paris. I would recommend this apartment for anyone visiting the city for the first time - after a week of staying there we figured out all the shortcuts to the Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame, the Louvre and Bon Marche. I was also pleasantly surprised how convenient it was to get there from the airport - it took us a 45 minute train ride, plus about a 10-15 minute walk from the RER station, much more convenient than airports in the US. The Odeon metro station is even closer, only a couple minutes from the apartment but we mainly just walked all over rather than taking the train.
We met Michelle at the apartment, which she furnished with fruit, wine and Nespresso coffee. She was very friendly and gave us a very detailed explanation of the kitchen and bathroom appliances, TV and phone, etc. I thought it was very convenient that the apartment is furnished with an IP phone, since neither of us had a working cellphone in France. Also, we had no problems getting access to the internet and email during our stay since the apartment has wifi access.
The apartment is very small, although that was not that much of an issue since we were outside most of the time. The hallway and stairs were quite dark, so you need to turn on the light to get up to the apartment but the apartment itself had enough sunlight so you didn't need to turn on the lights during the day. I also didn't think the outside noise was that much of an issue as some others have mentioned since the apartment is a couple of floors above street level. There were a couple of times when we ran out of hot water while taking a shower so I think it would be difficult for more than 2 people to stay at one time, that was my only complaint. I wouldn't mind staying here next time for 2 or 3 weeks, now that we know how to get to the nearby groceries (Monoprix and Carrefour) as well as GROM gelato. Hopefully we'll know more French by then.
My sister and I have been planning for a girl's trip with our daughters for several years. We could not have chosen a better place to stay than Michelle's apartment near Odeon. From the start of our planning, Michelle was extremely helpful and accommodating. We weren't sure if one of us would arrive a day earlier than the other and Michelle was willing to hold the apartment for an extra day while we were finalizing our plans.
Michelle welcomed us to Paris and her apartment with fruit, wine and coffee. We were welcomed like guests! Her apartment is tiny, but that is expected in Paris. My husband and I visited Paris in 2010 and stayed in a very nice hotel that was tiny as well.
Despite the size of the apartment, it is equipped with everything you could want during your visit. We went to the grocery store and cooked omelets one morning. We also bought a delicious quiche from Gerard Mullot and warmed it in the microwave for another delicious breakfast in Paris. What a joy to enjoy a delicious espresso each morning in our PJs! I plan to buy the same espresso machine for myself.
The apartment is in the perfect location. Very walkable to Notre Dame, Cluny, Pantheon, St. Sulpice, Luxembourg Gardens. A bit further but still walkable to Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Tuileries, Bon Marche. When our feet were tired, we had very easy access to Metro, RER, and bus routes. The area around the apartment is great for wandering and looking at little shops.
I was able to talk to my husband and family using the apartment phone. In addition, we were able to access email and internet with wifi in the apartment.
One evening, we met Michelle near Eiffel Tower. She showed us a great location for photos and we chatted in a cafe. Michelle also gave us a recommendation for a street market near Place Monge.
In the evenings, we heard the musician playing outside Le Comptoir. For one week, we felt like residents of Paris! Many thanks to Michelle for her hospitality and great apartment! If I have a chance to go back, I will be staying in the same apartment.
100m from Metro Odeon***
Our studio is located on rue Monsieur Le Prince (Odéon), in the heart of the Latin Quarter, a safe and prestigious neighborhood that is famous for its Parisian eateries, theaters, and boutique shops. It is within walking distances to most touristic and cultural attractions, like the Notre Dame, Saint Germain des Pres church, Luxembourg Garden, Saint Sulpice church, the Panthéon, the Invalides, Musée d'Orsay, or the Sorbonne..., just too numerous to mention. The Louvre Museum or Hôtel de Ville, on the other side of the Seine river, is a 10-15 minute romantic walk through the cobblestone streets. We have taken a few pictures of the immediate neighborhood to give you the real appreciation of the location.
Public transportation is the most convenient with steps away from 6 bus lines and metro stations, which are also the easy and cost-effective connections to and from the airports and train stations. Metro station Odéon (100m away) is on line 4 which connects to train stations (Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est) as well as to the major hubs for airport transfers ( Saint-Michel Nôtre Dame, Châtelet).
