Eye-popping views from this 2 bedroom/2 bath ocean front condo, about as close to the water as you can get. Feel like you're sitting on top of the ocean, with forever vistas across the sparkling Pacific, and nothing to obstruct your view except the occasional line of pelicans. Sounds of crashing waves reverberate throughout, and quiet mornings with just you, the fog, and the whitewater will bleed away any stress from the outside world. Later, sit on the balcony with a cocktail and watch the surfers ride the glassy afternoon swells, or relax in your king bed and watch for whales and dolphins.

This condo has just been remodeled, and is beautifully furnished, with all new kitchen, bathrooms, and beds, and 55' HDTV. King sized bed in the oceanfront master bedroom, and queen-sized bed in the second bedroom. Each bedroom has its own bathroom for extra privacy. Complex has a front area with grills for summer barbecues. Tidepools and a well-known surfing spot are immediately below your balcony.

This home is located in Ocean Beach, San Diego's most unique beach town. OB is a small community of fantastic restaurants, antique stores, and artistic residents. Ocean Beach is the closest beach community to the heart of San Diego, being only 10 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown. All groceries, restaurants, bars, and shopping are within a 10 minute walk. Park in the underground garage, and don't get in your car again until you leave!

About The Owner

We are long time San Diego residents, and intimately familiar with all the beach communities here. When it came time to purchase, there was only one of those we'd consider, and that is Ocean Beach. We love the idea of allowing others to experience the same joy we feel by staying in this magical place.

Why The Owner chose Ocean Beach

My wife and I simply love ocean beach, which is so different from any of the other beach communities. OB is weird in a very good way, and any of OB's annual festivals or its weekly farmer's markets are a great way to celebrate the utter coolness of this beach community out of the 60's. On top of great people-watching, OB has fantastic restaurants, yet everything is casual, as you'd expect for a beach town (the most dressing up you'll have to do is to put on some kind of footwear). When we saw this beautiful oceanfront condo for sale in the heart of our favorite community, we just couldn't resist.

What makes this condo unique

We think you'll fall in love with our place as much as we have. Many oceanfront places have a long stretch of grass, pavement, or sand between you and the ocean. In contrast, this place is as close to the water as you can get--you are literally right on top of it. That gives this condo a magical feel of floating on the sea. Sitting on the North-facing couch, it's not hard to imagine you're on a boat, drifting on the ocean. Surfers are a regular sight from the living room and bedroom, as are pelicans. We have seen whales and dolphins (though more rare), as well as harbor seals.

Car: not necessary

Ocean beach is a fantastic, eclectic beach town out of the 60's. Filled with funky shops, funky people, and some of the best restaurants in San Diego (all casual), Ocean Beach is about as unique as you can get. There are very few chain stores here, and almost all establishments are locally owned and run. People watching is unparalleled, and a trip to the Wednesday farmer's market is a feast for the eyes--watch families, students, hippies and tourists from every part of the world mix together in a good-natured celebration of food and music. For those into antiques, the main street (Newport) is filled with antique stores. Closer to the water on Newport, eat the best fish tacos in San Diego at South Beach Bar and Grill, or enjoy one of Hodads' famous burgers. Everything is within walking distance from the condo--you won't need your car while you're here. All groceries, restaurants, shopping, beaches are within a ten minute walk, so park the car in the underground space, and don't get back in until it's time to leave!

Of course, if you want to drive, you can. Cabrillo monument and the best views in San Diego is 5 minutes drive. The airport is 10 minutes away, downtown and gaslamp is about 13-14 minutes away, and Balboa park/zoo is about 15 minutes away.

Wonderful Home away from Home

This OB condo is fantastic! As other reviewers have mentioned, it is relaxing beyond belief to fall asleep listening to the surf, and then in the morning to enjoy a breakfast on the balcony as the surfers take to the waves. The kitchen is well-stocked and upscale, with everything needed to make meals to share with friends and family. The property is well located in OB - close to the shops and restaurants so that a car isn't necessary, but far enough from the local night life so you can enjoy peace and quiet. Walks along the cliffs are spectacular, and the Point Loma Lighthouse is well worth a visit.

Having been born and raised in San Diego, I know the city well - OB is the best location by far, and this condo is the icing on the cake! Thanks Steve and Greg, for making our stays in this home away from home so wonderful! We can't wait to come back.

Great place, amazing sunsets!

The views and sunsets are unobstructed and stunning. Surfers were straight out from the condo regularly. The pics and description are very accurate. This condo is very nice. It's clean, updated, and well furnished. The exterior of complex is "decent" but not nearly as nice as the inside. All the basics are included, just grab some groceries. We were met by a building manager who got us settled in. It's only a 15 min drive to downtown San Diego,( "little Italy" is THE place to eat), and about 6 blocks to restaurants and pubs in Ocean Beach. The neighborhood is quiet and felt safe, and the parking garage underneath and elevator made coming and going quick and easy. LaJolla is about 15-20 min away and a great spot to visit. Snorkeled the cove with sea lions(very cold water), took an electric bike tour with FlyRides, plus plenty of restaurants, shopping and beautiful shorelines. Then there's Coronado Island, Zoo, Gaslamp quarter, too much to do...and the condo is close to it all. We had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We loved staying here. The rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. The pictures accurately show how beautiful this condo is. We loved that the kitchen was stocked with high quality dishes and pots and pans making cooking a joy. We had all the comforts of home with a stunning ocean view. Access to the freeway and other sites was easy, although typical high beach town traffic on the weekend. But definitely worth it.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. We were sad to leave.

We really enjoyed this condo-felt so much at home with Greg's great introduction and tour. Our first view of the unit was exciting--it looked like the pics, was clean and modern--and the view!! Decorating was perfect-just enough without being too "beachy" and cluttered--absolutely loved the master and the layout privacy. the kitchen was well supplied-found everything supplied and then some. can't wait to return next year. thanks again

Just Beautiful!

I had the chance to spend 4 nights in this condo. The views were fantastic! The pictures on website are nice, but not even close to real thing. A great location for walks and exploring Ocean Beach, make sure to catch the market on Wednesdays! Very clean condo and had everything we needed. Owners were easy to work with. Definitely would return to this location and rent this condo again!
