In the trendiest, artsy section of Washington DC, Dupont Circle - example of Pierre L'Enfant's vision for the city, great avenues radiating off small parks like spokes on a wheel, we offer the best value in furnished apartments, truly a home away from home: just bring your clothes.
We offer a beautiful light and airy south facing furnished apartment, gutted last year, with availability throughout the year. There is an amazing new kitchen with Fisher&Paykel gas range and Italian cabinets. The bath has an amazing Kohler deep soaking tub and beautiful white carrara marble tiles.
This one bedroom apartment with one bathroom on the second floor of historic Art Deco building is steps from world class restaurants, avant-garde theaters, trendy cafes and the best shopping this city has to offer. The apartment is decorated with passion and attention to detail: classic modern furniture, color coordinated sheets, rugs, cotton linens, kitchen and bath ware.
The building features outdoor seating patio, washer and dryer (shared) and close proximity to Metro only block and a half away.
Garage parking is available near our unit for $20 to $30 a day.
Street parking is by permit only between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. We can get visitor's parking pass for you from a local police station for $40 for the stay, and you can park, day and night, on the street. The parking pass is for zone 1, so any street marked zone 1 on the signs is fine (quite a large area). Please note that during the season the streets get cleaned -please read signs clearly and visibly posted on each street when you must move your car for street cleaning.

hi, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Washington DC has become my second home twelve years ago when I came to study at Georgetown University. I live in this wonderful city with my two boys Alexander and Christopher, only few blocks from the rental property. We spend every weekend at a museum (Air and Space is the favorite), hiking through Rock Creek Park or on a fifty year old carousel in front of the Smithsonian Gardens and we hope that all our guests enjoy this vibrant city as much as we do. Eva
Eva purchased this condo in 2009
As a single mom I need to provide for my two boys. I love to travel and so do my kids. Most of the time I travel out of DC and the situation helped me see that just as I love to leave the city and to explore other places, there are people who come to visit DC to spend time with their families. My two boys, my family, are the best critics of any place, as no furnishings are safe from their play and no vase is sacred to them. Our places are luxurious but ready to be used. I understand what most travelers need to feel comfortable since I have traveled extensively around the world to Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Europe . Please come and share your vacation time in our home. I promise that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. This is the reason I bought my rental property.
From our apartment in the heart of Dupont Circle the access to all the tourist attractions, world famous restaurants, great bars and the biggest selection of privately owned galleries is just steps away. The metro stop is only a block and a half away, next to Starbucks. The 14 Street buses run directly downtown from our bus station at the end of the block; every two minutes during rush hour and every six minutes other times. The White house, The Mall and The Smithsonian Museums are less than a mile away; about fifteen minute walk or few metro stops.
thank you for a wonderful experience in DC!
We liked all of the restaurants and getting a feel of what it's like to live here!
The U St metro made it easy to get to all of the monuments and museums. We would like to thank you for fixing the door as soon as we called you. We loved how clean the apartment is and how attentive you are!
We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and locale. The owner could not have been nicer, very responsive and we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Great restaurants just a few steps away, metro rail close by, a Trader Joe's right around the corner. It is so much more fun to have a real place to stay with a kitchen and we were able to watch our beloved Giants baseball playoff games in the evening! We left our bags until early afternoon on the day of check out and retrieve them while the cleaning person was there. We hope to come here again!
The apartment is clean, bright and airy. The location is perfect for us. We have family in a couple of blocks away. The kitchen is well stocked, there are plenty of linens and access to public transportation and local businesses is easy. I have two major complaints. The first is that the couch bed is nearly impossible to sleep on. I found an air mattress but there was no pump to inflate it. I was visiting with my adult son so two separate places to sleep was a necessity for us. This was a big disappointment. The other concern was the there was not a working deadbolt on the unit which raises questions re security. It is DC and I would think that a deadbolt would be important. If the sofa bed situation is fixed, I would stay here again.
After re-reading prior reviews, I wonder if we are talking about the same apartment. With VRBO you pay in full and well in advance, and rely on the description and pictures. This listing is simply misrepresented. First of all, it is not located anywhere near Dupont Circle. The neighborhood is "U Street Corridor," which has its own unique and enjoyable cache. Secondly, not all of the pictures in this listing were taken in this unit. We looked all over for the cute outdoor place for our morning coffee and never found it. One prior writer was absolutely correct that the couch is very uncomfortable. Add to it that the black chair and ottoman depicted (which might have helped the problem) had been removed, so there was no comfortable seating in the living area. Then there is the bedroom. Both the head and foot of the platform bed press against walls, so whoever sleeps on the window side has to crawl over the other to get in and out. A second soft mattress had been flopped on the top, so it was impossible to sit on the edge of the bed to dress without sliding off. And the linens were worn out, albeit clean. We are not picky people. We travel far and wide; we manage our expectations; and we are experienced VRBO users. We will not recommend this unit.
My sister and I loved coming home to our bustling neighborhood from the convenient U Street Metro each day after a busy day of exploring the sites. Trader Joe's half a block away was always a good option for quick food when we weren't up to going out to eat. When we were there were many choices of really good restaurants to choose from.
The apartment is well equipped and we appreciated the basic supplies that were provided: soap, toilet paper, dish washing soap,etc.. We enjoyed the ambience and tasteful art that fills the walls. The bathroom is beautifully tiled and it has a great shower. The only inconvenience for us was the tight quarters around the large bed in the bedroom. We highly recommend the apartment and the neighborhood.
The apartment is in a great location. It is clean with all the things you need to stay there and laundry downstairs. Eva, the manager, is really nice. The apartment is well appointed and small. The only drawback is that you can't open the window in the bedroom as the air conditioner takes up the window. I would stay again next time I'm in town.
This apartment was exactly as described. It was very clean. In fact the owner indicated that we could drop our bags off early and if the cleaning person was finished we could take possession earlier than 4:00pm. It took the young cleaning girl several hours to clean the place. The kitchen was well equipped. Linens were plentiful. It was very well situated. We were 1/2 a block from the buses going east and west and 1 block for the buses going north and south. The metro rail was a 1 1/2 blocks away. We were around the corner from a Trader Joes (grocery store) and 4 blocks from the organic store. There were several different places to choose from for dining out. If there was anything that we was not happy with it was the seating in the living room. The sofa is extremely uncomfortable. When you are sitting on it you are constantly sliding forward. After walking 5 or 6 hours each day it would have been nice to sit and relax. The alternative to the couch were 2 plastic chairs. However, on the whole we would highly recommend this place as it was so clean and well situated.
