Scott and Meg married in 1990 and spent years living in the Detroit Metro Area before moving to Houston, TX, in 2005. They both earned graduate degrees and had busy careers (Scott as a CFO and Meg as a teacher and writer). But after decades of battling crazy traffic and commuting hours each day, they decided it was time for a change.
Meg Dendler purchased this house in 2012
One look at this glorious property in Arkansas was all it took. Eureka Springs stole Scott & Meg's hearts, and the promise of waking up every morning to a view that stretched for miles clinched it. They packed up the family (including 4 cats and a dog) and relocated to what they now call Serenity HIlltop. Scott and Meg live just across the lawn from the guest house, so you may see Meg writing on the porch or Scott working in the yard. It is truly a little bit of heaven every day.
Downtown Eureka Springs is delightful, but staying overnight in the city can make parking tricky and is not exactly peaceful. Serenity Hilltop offers the privacy for your group to be as quiet or as loud as you please, and to be all under one roof together. The house is perfect for family reunions, a weekend getaway with the girlfriends, and especially for weddings. Meg is ordained and licensed to perform weddings and civil ceremonies, and our pavilion offers a breathtaking view for your special day. Our property also provides the opportunity to hike the trails or have Scott take you out in the 4x4. Guests love to explore the cavern on our property and take quiet walks in the woods. Everyone in town comments on what a beautiful place we have, and we couldn't agree more. We'd love to share it with you!
Note left in our guest book:
We had such a wonderful Christmas here! It is nice and spacious, so we survived the five days. My four-year-old daughter asked me if this place was magical, and I said it probably is. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.
Meg & Scott, Thank you for a wonderful four days occupying your home while making preparations for our daughter's wedding. The house was stocked beyond our expectations, very homey and welcoming. You were also very accommodating......especially with the last minute dinner for 25 people! Thank you for your hospitality and we will certainly return.
We had three couples and one infant traveling to Eureka Springs for the weekend. This house was perfect. Each couple had their own sleeping and bathroom space but a large common area to share.
We were especially glad we stayed outside downtown- it was peaceful, well maintained and had a beautiful view. We were ten minutes or so from downtown so it was very convenient but very private.
We have stayed in several VRBO properties and this one was one of the most well stocked, taken care of properties. The kitchen really did have everything you needed outside of food. The decks were lovely to sit on, the beds were comfortable, the decor lovely and the entire experience from start to finish was easy and exactly what we needed for a relaxing long weekend.
The owners were wonderful and very helpful. This met and exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this property for anyone traveling to Eureka Springs.
Beautiful house. Beautiful scenery. Kind hosts.
What a wonderful place and what congenial hosts! The house was as described--immaculate, comfortable, and with great amenities. Just minutes from Eureka Springs downtown, it was a sweet remove from the hustle and bustle of town. We came to relax, and we did. Sitting on the balcony looking at the view, listening to the birds--it was bliss. We'd definitely stay there again and will certainly recommend highly to our friends.

The home was extremely cleaned and well stocked. We Loved sitting on the porch and enjoyed the swing. Meg and Scott were great. The bedrooms were spacious and well appointed. We would definitely return and highly recommend this property for families, couples and a girls or guys get away !
Over 1,400 feet up in the Ozarks on 7 private wooded acres to explore. A quick trip to all that Eureka Springs has to offer--art galleries, quaint shopping, great restaurants--as well as minutes from Beaver Lake. In an hour, you can be in Branson, MO. We also highly recommend Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge for a face to face experience with rescued tigers, lions, cougars, and bears. Our pavilion is perfect for family reunions, weddings, or parties right on site. We are located right off Highway 62 for easy access.
