You'll be enchanted from the minute you lay eyes on the weathered aqua Mexican gate and vine-laced arbor that opens to a brick walkway and front yard filled with native and drought-tolerant plants. With its red-brick facing and long, extended porch, the exterior of the house has an upscale south-of-the-border feel that invites you to take a deep breath, slow down and smell the ocean breezes.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted by complementary hors d'oeuvres and a bottle of wine or sparkling cider (upon request), day passes from the renowned Spa on the Plaza in downtown Monterey, Scheid Wine tasting room passes in downtown Carmel, and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is at your disposal to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, plush spa bathrobes, slippers, over-sized towels and beach gear.
While the time away on the front porch in a wicker rocker or watch your fine feathered friends splash in a tranquil birdbath as you enjoy morning coffee or afternoon cocktails at a wrought-iron table and chairs.
Inside, saturated colors of burnt orange, teal, charcoal gray and desert-sand hint of the Carmel Mission style, but this house goes beyond categories and carves out its own niche, staying true to an unerring sense of personal style.
You'll delight in the living room, with its rich orange walls, oak flooring topped with an area rug, distressed-wood ceiling beams and a compelling black-and-white tiled fireplace. Streamlined ‘50s furnishings with striped or animal-skin-patterned upholstery mix it up with such items as a round white tile coffee table with wrought-iron legs, a burl wood accent table, a flat-screen TV and contemporary art, photography and ceramics.
Preparing gourmet meals will be a treat in the attractive modern kitchen with its subtle-toned tiling in shades of mustard, sand and cream, pine floor, white ceramic farmhouse sink, and stainless steel appliances including a gas range, side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. A washer and dryer are in a nearby laundry room.
The adjacent dining room is elegant without being overly formal with its walls of charcoal gray and crisp white wainscoting, rectangular table that seats 8 beneath a brass lantern-style light fixture and contemporary black-and-white photographs. French doors open out to a deck (complete with BBQ) that overlooks a back yard landscaped with mature trees, lush green grass and flowers such as hydrangea, day lilies, roses and azalea.
Build a cozy fire in the spacious master bedroom's unique fireplace faced with white mini-tiles and lounge in the queen bed fitted with luxury linens. Other furnishings include a red Chinese amoire, a ‘50s armchair, distressed carved-wood end tables and a sea-foam-green distressed-wood cabinet. Light streams in through Bay windows and French doors that lead out to the deck. There is plenty of closet space.
The master bath with its muted color scheme features a pair of sinks and an over-sized shower tiled in shades of sand, gray and beige and framed on two sides by floor-to-ceiling glass panels. A second half-bath makes a statement with its black wainscoting and black-and-white Chinese-themed wallpaper, black floor tiles and a sparkling white freestanding ceramic sink.
A second bedroom in charcoal gray trimmed in white has a full bed, also appointed with luxury linens, a comfy upholstered easy chair, a two-tiered round metal occasional table and a large recessed bookshelf.

The guest unit below is large and spacious, beautifully decorated and light filled with a full kitchen. A King bed adorns the bedroom and can become 2 twins and a Chaise Sleeper Couch that sleeps two is available in an adjoining room. There are 2 twin aero beds that can also be used for additional sleeping, one upstairs and one downstairs.
If you feel like relaxing outdoors under the trees, you can head down to the lawn furniture situated in a beautifully landscaped spacious back yard or sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs and being entertained by humming birds splashing in the water feature, and appreciating the herbs and lettuces growing in containers.
There is a long driveway that can fit 3 cars tandem and plenty of on-street parking.
It's an easy 10-minute walk to the recreational trail that extends for miles along rocky Monterey Bay shoreline and the ocean. Bicycles can be rented across the street at the Anton Inn and you can ride on the bike path to the Aquarium, Asilomar Beach and downtown Pacific Grove, with its multiplicity of shops, boutiques and restaurants. Pacific Grove Golf Links is minutes away.

Additional Rate Details and Rental Terms
* 10% City transient occupancy tax applicable to all fees (including cleaning and any optional
amenity fees).
* Non-refundable cleaning fees are quoted separately from rent: $200 for up to 5 guests renting main house only; $275 for 1-5 people using main house and guest suite, $300 6-7 guests (main & guest), $350 for 8-9guests (main & guest).
* Stays of 30 days or more require mid-stay cleanings every two weeks that you will be responsible for scheduling with our Vacation House Manager at the rate of $25/hour per housekeeper. This is over and above the cleaning fee itemized in your contract and will be charged to your credit card after giving you notice of the total charge in advance.
* Rates are based on 8 guests (including infants & children) and include use of the Guest Suite. (Guest Suite is mandatory for 5 or more adults). If size of the group is 5 guests or LESS (4 Adults 1 child) and only the main house is used, DEDUCT $50 per night or $350 per week from the above rates. If more than 8 guests (including infants and children) add $25 per person per night.
* If house is empty 7 days before arrival and only the upstairs is used-deduct $100 per night
* Accidental Loss and Damage Waiver Fee $75 instead of security deposit (covers up to $2,000 unintentional damage to house or its contents but does not cover negligent abuse or neglect)
* Credit Card number must be on file for security against any damages should damage be due to abuse or neglect and are not accidental in nature. Guest would be responsible for any uncovered damages.
* Dogs under 45 pounds allowed. If dog is under 1 year old, must be kept in a crate at night. No dog left at home alone. Backyard is fully fenced. 2 dogs max.
* Pet Fees: $100 each dog (1 dog ); $150 two small dogs; if arranged after acceptance of contract, contract must be amended to adjust price. Must sign Pet Waiver and have Purchased Damage Waiver $75
* Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 60 days or less before your arrival date, you are eligible for a full refund only if we can re-rent the property for the same dates and rental rate less the $150 administration fee and any bank or PayPal fees incurred by the owner. If you cancel 60 days or more before your arrival date, you are eligible for a full refund of the rental amount less the $150 administration fee and any bank or PayPal fees incurred by owner. * PG&E gas and electricity are paid by guest for rentals of 30 days or more.

* This is a two story residence so please discuss this with us if anyone in your party has difficulty climbing stairs. There are sleeping options on both floors.
