About Owner/Manager

This is our home away from home. Living just 1.5 hours away lets us run to our cabin in the Poconos all the time for a quick get-away of outdoor activity. We love riding our bikes on the bike path & fishing!

Owner/Manager purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Owner/Manager chose Mount Pocono

We bought this Pocono cabin because we wanted a place close enough to drive to easily, we specifically wanted a log cabin, on a river, fishing and biking - this cabin had all we wanted and more! We grew up skiing at Jack Frost & Big Boulder so it's amazing to have a cabin so close! And the best restaurant in the Poconos is right across the street!

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin has a short path down to the Lehigh Gorge State Park bike path and the Lehigh River. We pack a lunch and head out for a long bike ride every day we're there. Hickory Run State Park is also right across the river for summer swimming and hiking. In the winter the bike path is great for cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling. It's truly a year-round vacation destination!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Lisa, we had a fire going last night and stayed up late playing games with the kids. They are still sleeping so we haven't ventured outside yet. Can't wait - heard the rapids last night from the deck so we are definitely going to take that walk you mentioned. We travel all over the world and this is only three hours from home and the best vacation so far!

Beautiful cabin made for a relaxing Labor Day!

  • 5 of 5
My family and I had a wonderful vacation over Labor Day weekend at the cabin. The river front cabin provided all the amenities of home with an amazing porch that overlooked the bike path and river. A perfect place to relax and listen to the sounds of the river! The owners were friendly and very easy to work with. We recommend this property and look forward to spending vacation retreats there in the future. Thanks!!

Great Authentic Poconos Cabin

  • 5 of 5
I booked this cabin for a weekend as the venue to host my brother’s bachelor party. We had 10 guys and we all fit comfortably between the 5 bedrooms and number of large couches. Great golf and disc golf courses in the area and the Lehigh river bike trail is literally a walk through the backyard. We all did a 30 mile ride Saturday morning and enjoyed grilling burgers over the fantastic fire pit for dinner that night. This cabin has a lot more character than your typical large house Pocono rental and we thought the fee was reasonable for the quality of the place and perfect location. Thanks Lance and Lisa for the great service and for renting such an awesome spot!

Beautiful place to get away from it all!!

  • 5 of 5
Man, what a beautiful place to get away and just relax! Myself and a group of friends headed here for my bachelor party a week before my wedding. Initial plans were to do the city/bars and/or AC/gambling, but after telling my one friend that what I really wanted to do was just get away from all the "busy" and hang out in the woods, he recommended this place (he was here earlier for another bachelor party). What a great choice this turned out to be!! The cabin is absolutely gorgeous, and has more than enough room for the entire crew. Both nights we were here we stayed up late around the fire pit and played some pool in the finished downstairs, it was perfect! We even ventured down to the Lehigh river to watch people raft by; the sounds of the river from the house are awesome. On Saturday we went to the Hickory Run State Park beach, and it was great! It is like having your own sandy beach right next to your cabin in the woods! It was really nice and relaxing, just being able to get together with some of your best friends and unwind for a weekend; it really beats the city/bar routine! The cabin itself is in amazing condition, and it's location is key! Next time we visit I plan on taking a raft down the river, and bringing a few reels for fishing. All in all it was a fantastic vacation, and Lance and Lisa were absolutely great! From start to end they answered all questions and really made the entire trip just so easy. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away to a cabin in the woods; it doesn't get any better than this gem!! Thanks!

Beautiful, peaceful log cabin on the Lehigh River

  • 5 of 5
Beautiful 4-5 bedroom log cabin close to I-80 and 476 yet secluded overlooking the Lehigh River. Excellent customer service and all questions and concerns answered promptly in a friendly manner. Back porch overlooking the bike path and sounds of the river were truly fantastic and the night time "laser" show a special treat not to be missed. Town of White Haven doesn't offer much other than a supermarket and gas stations but many nearby attractions (Jim Thorpe, state parks, fishing) and more than enough to keep you as occupied as you would like. Barley Creek Brewery and restaurant had great food and interesting tour although service very slow due to staff vacations. Would definitely book this rental again!

Awesome cabin, lots of amenities!!!

  • 5 of 5
This cabin was fantastic if you are looking to get off the beating path and into a picturesque nature setting. We check into the cabin on July 17 and planned a 4 day long weekend. We had 4 couples wit 4 kids that joined us and the house accommodated all of us perfectly. We were blown away by how nice the cabin was on the inside and outside. The deck on the back of the house was great. Each morning we were able to sit out back and relax with our morning coffee while listening to sounds of the river below. Very peaceful. There is great biking trail about 100 yards from the house. The path to get down to it is very clear and a very easy walk. I took a nice long walk every morning on the path and saw some deer as well. All of the bedrooms were more tan spacious for our group. We were able to put the kids to bed in the bedrooms upstairs so that we could take advantage of the downstairs game room and pool table without waking any of them up. There is a washer and dryer in the downstairs that we ended up using once. It was nice to go on a trip like this and then come home with all clean clothes! The front yard is a bit tight but we parked our cars right up close to the house and set up some games in the driveway. It worked out just fine.
We used the outdoor grill all three days we were there. We brought our own charcoal and it couldn't have been easier. I absolutely loved the fire pit. We had that going two out of the three nights and it was great to sit around it as a group with all of our friends.

We made a few runs to the store in White Haven which was about 10 minutes away. They have everything that you need there. We also took advantage of the nearby Hickory Run State Park. Its probably a 20 minute drive but man were the grounds awesome. They have a swimming area with a nice beach. All of the restrooms and locker rooms, and concession buildings were brand new. They also had Frisbee golf!
Overall everyone had a wonderful time and we would definitely come back to this house again. Its the true definition of what a home in the Poconos is supposed to be like.
