About 26 miles of abandoned railroad grade follow the river and are available to hiking and biking and provide access for hunting and fishing. Whitewater boating is a major attraction of the park. This section of the Lehigh River is Class III whitewater and is popular for rafting, kayaking and canoeing.

Hickory Run State Park: (across the river from our cabin, approx 2 miles away) The 15,500-acre Hickory Run State Park, has over 40 miles of hiking trails, three state park natural areas and miles of trout streams. An environmental education center provides year round educational programs on the park’s unique resources.

This is our home away from home. Living just 1.5 hours away lets us run to our cabin in the Poconos all the time for a quick get-away of outdoor activity. We love riding our bikes on the bike path & fishing!

Owner/Manager purchased this cabin in 2006

We bought this Pocono cabin because we wanted a place close enough to drive to easily, we specifically wanted a log cabin, on a river, fishing and biking - this cabin had all we wanted and more! We grew up skiing at Jack Frost & Big Boulder so it's amazing to have a cabin so close! And the best restaurant in the Poconos is right across the street!

Our cabin has a short path down to the Lehigh Gorge State Park bike path and the Lehigh River. We pack a lunch and head out for a long bike ride every day we're there. Hickory Run State Park is also right across the river for summer swimming and hiking. In the winter the bike path is great for cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling. It's truly a year-round vacation destination!

My wife and I went away for a ski weekend with a few other couples and we had the best time! We were blown away with the cabin and the location on the Lehigh River! So close to town and ski mountains, yet we felt like we were miles away from civilization in the woods! The weekend was incredible! Better than we ever imagined! Thanks Lance & Lisa for being so helpful!

Ski Vacation Rental

My family and I enjoyed a week stay for a ski vacation at this cabin. The cabin was great if you are looking for a secluded cabin in the woods (which we were). The rooms were all plenty big and accomodated 3 kids and 3 couples without feeling cramped. When we arrived the cabin was clean and welcoming. Lisa was sure to provide us with plenty of information before checking in as far as directions and activities close to the property. She was also very available for any questions and responded quickly. There was a lot of ice on the road leading up to the cabin due to the number of snowstorms we had prior to our trip. The road leading into the cabin was a bit tricky, but Lisa did everything possible to warn us as well as put down salt to help out on the day of our scheduled arrival. Would've been tricky if we didn't all have 4WD. Our primary reason for renting was for skiing (we ended up taking the 1/2 hour drive to camelback). For those that didn't ski, there were restaurants close by and a train museum within a 45 minute drive as well as the outlets within 30 minutes. There is also the bike/jogging path along the river, but it was snow covered during out stay. Overall this was exactly what we were looking for and the entire family enjoyed our stay. Would also be a great place to stay over the summer considering the fire pit/bike path/river/deck. Thanks to Lisa for her awesome customer service and I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation site.

This cabin is perfect for a bachelor party weekend. Large enough to sleep 10+, huge deck to hang out on, grill, fire pit, and pool table, really can't ask for more. Location is secluded but an easy drive to white haven and ski slopes. Best part was Lance and Lisa (the owners) made renting simple and we're quick to answer any questions I had. If your a best man trying to put together something different and memorable, I highly, highly recommend this place.

Best of Both: Remote, Authentic and Comfortable Cabin Feel with Easy Access

We rented this cabin for a weekend getaway with our friends to celebrate my husband's 32nd birthday. In looking for a place, we wanted space for 5 couples, a sufficient number of bathrooms, close proximity to skiing, and a relaxing place for down time. This cabin delivered all of that and more.

I couldn't have imagined a better rental or nicer owners! The cabin is a few short turns off of I-80, but you'll feel miles away from civilization when in the comfort of the cabin. For our group, it was the perfect combination. Of note, if there is a snow storm, having 4-wheel drive is ideal as the driveway is down hill and unpaved. We arrived after recent snowfall and with more snow forecasted for the following day. The owners had the driveway plowed before we arrived. Among many other helpful suggestions, the owners forewarned us of the need for 4-wheel drive. No one in the group had trouble except me; I quickly discovered the difference between all-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive. My husband and the guys may disagree, but digging out my Explorer only added to the "Great Outdoors" weekend. Also, the owners were incredibly fast at suggesting and planning help for me should I not have been able to get my car out. No one else in our group had any issues and I wouldn't anticipate any unless it's a particularly snowy weekend.

The Owners. Amazing. In searching for a rental for this weekend, I had some very sketchy interactions with rental-property managers; the managers did not follow through with promised information and in general, promised a lot more than they could deliver. After talking with the owners of the cabin, I knew I could trust them and rely upon their recommendations. Having an owner-operated rental is a huge plus in my mind. The owners were extremely attentive, responsive, and thoughtful. They truly cared about our experience and that means a lot to me.

The Cabin. A true log cabin on the river. Being there is even better than you can imagine from the pictures. There was ample room for our group of 10. There was space in both the kitchen and living area as well as in the finished basement for us to gather together while still providing privacy in other areas for recharging and relaxing.

Easy Access. We ate twice at the Powerhouse, for lunch and dinner. Dinner was better than the lunch, but we enjoyed both. We easily went skiing/snowboarding at JFBB and Camelback. I cannot say enough about the owners and this property!

Rustic cabin in beautiful Wooded Setting

Lance and Lisa's cabin was a fantastic location for our extended family getaway weekend. The house was very cozy. Most time was spent in the main room/kitchen telling stories and eating, our favorite thing to do, while the fire roared. The fire pit outside is not any ordinary fire pit. It is rigged to cook on, and we did just that. Thanks for a great weekend. We plan to be back in the future.
