Arizona Getaway #A is an urban retreat located in a Historic Tempe neighborhood in the heart of the Valley of the Sun. This apartment is one half of a single level Duplex. Both two-bedroom apartments are vacation rentals.

Centrally located and close to Mass Transit and major freeways makes it easily accessible to everything in the Greater Phoenix area. A short one block walk to Metro Light Rail, public bus or Free Tempe Shuttles makes for a hassle-free ride to shopping, sports, or arts events.

Four Peaks Brew Pub is in a historic building two blocks away. A supermarket is one block away and Tempe’s newest mall, Tempe Marketplace is a 20 minute walk. The Tempe Orbit Free shuttles are a block away and provide a quick ride to Tempe’s Mill Ave. Shopping District and Tempe Town Lake for recreation and events.

About Gail or Gary

We moved to Tempe when Gary was attending Arizona State University in the 1980s and have and stayed here because we enjoy the culture and energy of living in a college town. We raised our family in this neighborhood and are now empty nest. We enjoy traveling and had a positive experience with staying in a vacation rental apartment that we booked through VRBO and decided to try it ourselves when one of our rental units became vacant.

Being near by and having lived in Tempe for more than 20 years we are a phone call away to help guests with anything they may need. We can offer restaurant suggestions, route information or an arranged trip to the airport.

What makes this apartment unique

The location is the best! There is always something to do and easy to get there. Whether it’s the Fiesta Bowl Block Party, ASU graduation, a festival, hiking, sport events or shopping and dining, it’s all close by. Being so close Mass Transit there is no need to battle the Phoenix traffic. Close to many attractions like the Phoenix Zoo, Desert Botanical Garden, ASU Art Museum and Tempe Town Lake.

Awesome Place!

This vacation home is exactly what you see in the pictures. It is clean and comfortable. Everything you need is there from a blender to the washing machine. It is close to ASU which is a great plus!

A home away from home

The unit is clean and very comfortable. Everything we needed was available. The laundry facilities are a big plus! It's in a great location, especially for Spring Training games. We thought the neighbourhood was quiet and felt comfortable walking there. Gail is great and very helpful --Thanks, Gail.

Excellent, clean, comfortable, near ASU

I spent a month here as a visiting researcher at ASU and found the place just perfect! I bought a bicyle to get to ASU (10 min), but as busses and light rail are just around the corner, the place is ideal for ASU visitors.

It exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and location, as well as regarding all the amenities that are included, e.g. a new washer and dryer, a perfectly equipped and clean kitchen (including soap, garbage bags, etc.), very comfortable beds and a nice little private patio where I could enjoy a cup of coffee in the sun.

Although there were other guests in the second, identical apartment, I never saw or heard them.

Gail and Gary are top hosts who are very discreet but available if needed. They provide great service and think of everything guests could need during their stay.

There is a supermarket nearby, also a 7/11 and a couple of restaurants (my favorite is Four Peaks Brewery, just a 10 min walk).

I will definitely be back!

We found the best place in Tempe!

Gary and Gail are top-notch hosts. They exceeded our expectations in many ways. The two bedroom apartment we stayed in for a week offers more than most vacation rentals. This is a non-smoking rental and is immaculately clean. It is truly a home away from home.

There is one other unit in the building. There were other guests there during our stay, but you would have never known they were there. Our unit was quiet and comfortable. Off-street parking, wireless internet and TV included! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything under the Arizona sun, including a dishwasher and microwave. The bedrooms are fresh and include comfortable and inviting bedding. The bathroom is elegantly updated and comes with plenty of fresh towels. An extra feature that my husband loved was the onsite laundry area.

Our hosts graciously left a binder full of information about nearby attractions and restaurants and gave us insider tips, including how to use the nearby light rail to get to the ASU campus for a football game. Four Peaks Brewing, which came highly recommended, was a fast favorite during our stay.

Enterprise Rental Car is just minutes away. The apartment is convenient to grocery stores and many stores and restaurants. It really is the best bet in town, whether you’re on vacation, traveling for business or visiting someone at ASU. We just can’t say enough great things about this place!

Great place to stay!

We stayed here while visiting family over the holidays. This is a great place with every amenity you need. It was wonderful to have laundry facilities. Great location close to shopping, eating, and public transportation. Gail and Gary were super! I highly recommend staying here during your stay in the Tempe/Phoenix area.

This apartment is on a quiet residential street in a 2-unit building close to everything. Although it is a non-smoking apartment, guests can use the private patio. Washer and Dryer are free and located in a separate locked area. Ceramic tile floors throughout and ceiling fans make it cool and comfortable.
