Our large condo has just been fully repainted and within the last two years we remodeled the kitchen with new appliances, cabinets and countertops and redid the bathrooms. The living room furniture and downstairs carpeting is new. There is a wet bar in the living room. Two TV's (one flat screen) with cable outlets are in the living room and one of the bedrooms for flexibility. The expansive deck provides for grilling, eating, sunning, relaxing and watching sunsets over Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak with unimpeded views across a large meadow. The cheerful living room with red couches facing the fireplace and an oriental rug also contains original art by famed Vermont artist, Woody Jackson, as well as other original art and prints. The bookcases are full of books and games for adults and children -- just in case someone wants to stay inside.
Stonybrook has everything for adults and children; six tennis courts and two pools where our grandchildren always find new friends to keep them occupied. In addition, there is a sauna, rec and exercise room and a pitch and put golf course. Our favorites are the hiking trails, one of which leads to a captivating waterfall. Stonybrook is at the midpoint of the Stowe recreation path which leads from the town to the base of Mt. Mansfield. Biking with younger children can be done on the grounds or the rec path and of course on town roads with older children. Restaurants, shopping and a great deli and bakery are all within walking distance.
Stowe is everyone's image of a New England town; quaint shops, a variety of restaurants, a picturesque church and a laid-back atmosphere. The summer abounds with theme weekends such as Antique cars, British cars and a hot-air balloon festival. The Trapp Family Resort hosts summer cultural events in their meadows, such as the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. There is fishing, mountain climbing and horse-back riding as well as camps for children all nearby.
Keywords: 3 BR condo, on 160 acre resort, halfway between Stowe village and the mountain with access to the stowe recreation path and stunning mountain views. Gaze at both Mt. Masfield and Spruce from the deck across meadows and fields.
I fell in love with Vermont when I went to camp on Lake Champlain, and fell in love with skiing in Vermont while in college. My husband started skiing with me before we were married, and it has become one of our favorite things to do as a family. We always planned to have a home in ski country, but moved a lot and lived overseas. We've skied on four continents and are always happy to be in Stowe! It was a wonderful day(even in frigid January)for our family when we took possession of our home here. Little did we know that we would come to love it in the summer as much as in the winter! There is always so much to do in Stowe, we know you will love it too. York and Fred, Connecticut

There are so many joys in owning a condominium! The property is beautifully kept and abounds with flowers in the summer, the pools are heated, the tennis court nets at the right height and the trails through our woods extend for miles! Best of all, this particular unit has a spectacular view across a meadow and adjacent cornfield owned by the association. We see an iconic red barn and black and white cows. You know you are in Vermont!
We have skied and visited resorts all over the world ( as a result of living overseas for years )and found in Stowe and Stonybrook the perfect combination of a real New England town and great, easy summer activities such as the antique car weekends and hot air balloon festival and the convenience of tennis, swimming and hiking on site, plus a mountain view from our condo that is mystical.
We LOVED your place! We had the most wonderful time... You have a great location, close to the Trapp lodge, the ski slopes and I loved the rec path. Great for country skiing and snowshoeing....Thanks for sharing your place with us.
Stonybrook also features a communal hot tub, sauna, rec and exercise room. There are many hiking trails; our favorite is the one leading to a multi-level waterfall. There is also a pitch and put golf course. In winter, small hills provide great sledding spots and the trails and meadows are perfect for cross-country skiers and snowshoers.
