The BEST of Austin in this home away from home...

My husband, mother and daughter rented the house for six months, and it was absolutely perfect. I could not have been more pleased not only with this house and the accommodations, but the owner's obvious care in ensuring that you have the overall best stay possible while in Austin.
The location near UT and Hyde Park was PERFECT, particularly if you are entertaining children. The best parks and playgrounds are within walking distance or just a short drive away. We spent nearly every morning at a local park with our daughter, then had the most amazing lunches in local restaurants, all within walking distance. The Children's museum is awesome and only a five minute drive away. Zilker Park was amazing - a ten minute drive.
Also, the best restaurants are within walking distance or within a 5/10 minute drive. We ventured out to many restaurants, and we found ourselves in constant appreciation of the ones we had right around the corner. Also, the best grocery stores are within walking distance, i.e., Central Market and Wheatsville Co-Op. I walked to either of them a few times a week, if not daily. The flagship Whole Foods, again, only a five minute drive away.
Finally, if you love to shop in neighborhood boutiques and enjoying walking through charming old neighborhoods with AMAZING oak trees, friendly people, and lovely old houses, you will be very happy.
The house itself was FABULOUS. Beautiful home built in the craftsman style fairly recently, which means light-filled, with spacious bedrooms, great water pressure, modern and clean bathrooms. The layout is great, with bedrooms fairly far apart, making privacy easily attainable. The kitchen was very well-equipped and interacted really nicely with a little breakfast area right near the back porch. The house has a lovely front porch overlooking a beautifully maintained yard and a spacious backyard to enjoy. Parking was great; we had two cars, one in the driveway and the other right in front of the house on the street.
We were so lucky to have found this house. The owner was extremely responsive and did everything possible to make sure we had everything we needed (including providing toys and furniture for my toddler!). Finally, we met wonderful, lovely people in this neighborhood. The neighbors were so overwhelmingly kind and generous and made our stay so fabulous. If you have the opportunity to stay long enough to to meet them, you will be so fortunate.
