Guestbook comments from the owner

A very beautiful property with super nice accommodating owners. Great access to the lake and the ATV trails right from the front door. The deer walk right up to the back door everyday. Another few days and they would have been eating from our hands. Look no further if you are looking for a clean, private, spacious place to spend some time in the Moosehead Lake Region.

Great week, although cold, had some snow, it was great. The house was very cozy, beautiful fireplace kept us warm and we enjoyed making s'mores. The layout of the house was perfect. Scenic view was incredible, overlooking Mooselake, and beautiful mountains. We had visitors everyday (12 deer), which we were able to get deer feed at the local hardware store. Saw 2 moose, turkey, rabbits and red fox, just beautiful. We did enjoy dinner out at Kelly Landing, great food. If you want a place to relax and enjoy the Beauty of nature this is the perfect place for you.

More than moose! This place is fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We originally just wanted a cabin with two bathrooms. Moosehead Lake has two full baths and so much more: a well equipped kitchen, a lovely deck, comfortable beds, really nice furniture and a hot tub :) My first trip to Maine was truly memorable. We hiked the AT, kayaked on the lake, boiled lobster, baked a pie and enjoyed the local flora and fauna and still had time to play some games and read a book. Carol was a gracious host.

Beautiful family getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was incredible, the cottage is everything our family could have wanted while exploring the Moosehead Lake region. To come back after great hikes, fishing, rafting, exploring, etc. to such a cozy spot was a treat. Our kids loved the hot tub and we loved the views. I am sure we will be back.

Very nice week at Moosehead Lake

  • 5 of 5

Despite getting a late start to our vacation and arriving after dark, we found the house with no issue based on the clear directions we received.

My first impression of the house when entering was that this was probably one of the few rentals we've had that possibly looked nicer in person than in the pictures. Things were clean, the house was very spacious, and the decor was fantastic, especially the moose head displayed on the wall. The area was quiet, and the neighbors I met were very friendly.

Within minutes of the house is Lily Bay State Park, that has a nice beach and hiking trails that bring you right down to some beautiful Moosehead Lake scenery. Also very close to the house is the famous B 52 crash site. It is a well marked drive up some dirt roads to a parking area, and then a short walk to the crash site.

Our favorite part of the trip was canoeing and fishing on Prong Pond. Prong Pond is just across the main road from the house, and it is a great pond for canoeing, with many small islands and inlets to explore. If needed, canoes can be rented from Northwoods Outfitters in town, and they keep them locked up at the pond so no need to strap it to the roof and transport it.

We also drove over to Moxie Falls, and one cool day hiked up Big Moose Mountain for some great views of the Moosehead region.

We spent several evenings walking around Greenville, which has several restaurants and shops. One ice cream shop gave a free scoop to our dog, which made her day.

I would recommend the house to anyone who wanted a quiet vacation in a scenic area.

Warm and relaxing with great views

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome week in the Beaver Cove/Greenville area. We absolutely loved the cabin especially with the fireplace and hot tub. That was a nice way to relax after our adventures each day. We felt safe and secure in the cabin and there was plenty of room to spread out. We really enjoyed the deer that would come each night for corn. Sometimes when we would get back to the cabin at 8-9 pm, they would be standing in the backyard waiting. The #14 collar deer was very pregnant and we wished she would've had her baby while we were there. It was rainy/cloudy for the first few days but we shopped in Greenville and relaxed in front of the fireplace. We enjoyed a guided fishing trip, a guided moose safari in a canoe, atv rentals, a trip to Gulf Hagas (where we got lost...yikes), a trip to Mt. Kineo which down poured the whole time we were on the island. We were most excited about white water river rafting which was cancelled on us due to too few people scheduled to go :(. The views and smells of the area was wonderful. Everyone wants to go back to Maine. Our 13 year old even said she liked Maine better than Florida! Overall we had a great trip and we are so thankful we did it.

Great week at Moosehead Lake

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year in this home at Moosehead Lake. The home is just perfect .... we have a wonderful view of the lake and truly enjoyed our morning coffee on the swing on the deck while listening to all of the birds singing and watching the hummingbirds come to their feeder. At night we watched the sunset over the lake from our deck and then sat out under the stars. We had deer all around the property ... We are constantly looking out the windows to see if there are any moose or deer in our yard and many times there are at least four deer and we saw a moose right down the road one afternoon. My husband enjoyed fishing on Prong Pond which is only five minutes away. The house is very clean and just as nice as the pictures show and had everything we needed for a perfect relaxing getaway vacation. The kitchen is wonderful ... we love to cook our meals while looking out the window at the lake. We saw moose six of the seven days we were there! We are already planning a return trip for next year and we would very much recommend this house to anyone looking to visit Moosehead Lake.
