Moosehead lake encompasses over 40 acres. It is the largest lake in Maine. There are also dozens of small ponds and smaller lakes for those of you seeking canoeing and kayaking in pristine environments with up close experiences with loons, moose, deer and a variety of birds including eagles.

There are hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails throughout the area which are accesible directly from our property. This is a hunting and fishing paradise offering opportunities for small and big game hunting as well as world class fly-fishing.

The Penobscot and Kennebec Rivers can offer you a thrilling ride with dam controlled class 3-5 whitewater experiences. For those of you less timid we have a delightful hike right to the river's edge where you can experience the thrill up close.

Bring your camera as photo opportunities abound.

Big Squaw Ski area is only 15 minutes away.

  • The king size master bed is on the second floor . Its the only room on that level . Large closet and glass sliders leading to a small deck with western views of the lake and mountains. Steps off the deck lead directly down to the jacuzzi level for private late night tubing. The two additional bedrooms are located on the first floor . One of the rooms has a glass slider which leads out to the private backyard. The other has beautiful knotty pine throughout. There is a bathroom on this level with shower.

Notes: We have a very large wraparound deck that has an outdoor dining area, gas grill, porch swing , outdoor hot tub. The deck faces west for fabulous sunsets and lake and mountain views. Outside stone firepit ..great for roasting marshmellows and campfires. Our perenial gardens are always in bloom. Great outdoor fieldstone firepit for campfires ..marshmellow roasting sticks provided. We are members of North ridge association with entitles you to 400 feet of waterfront directly on Moosehead Lake. This area has a roped off swimming area ..great for kids with swimming dock. A boat rack for your canoe or kayak, picnic tables and porta potty. There is a completely separate docking area for boats which includes a dock , a private mooring for your boat and access to an aluminum rowboat to row out to your boat. Hundreds of miles of ATv and snowmobile trails are directly accessible from the house.

Unbelievable Experience

We stayed here for a leaf-peeping visit to Moosehead this past year and it was an incredible place to stay. My husband's family has been coming to the Moosehead region for years and rated this house better than any other property they ever rented.

This house was a perfect match both for our elderly parents and rambunctious four year-old and absolutely beautiful inside. We enjoyed both the fireplace and star gazing from the hot tub.

Inside the house we found a comprehensive guide to the area put together by the owners and because of this we were able to find activities that even my in-laws (who have been coming to Moosehead for years) had not done. We particularly enjoyed the hike to Moxie Falls. Easy hike (longer drive though).

The owners could not have been kinder or more considerate of us. Not only did they perfectly prepare the home for us they even brought us some moose meat for us to enjoy after their hunt. Not only would we love to return to this home - we would consider visiting Costa Rica and staying in the property they have there.

Book while you can - this one will rent out quickly!

We really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a retreat to the main woods this is the place for you. Beautiful home, unbelievable views from the deck overlooking Moosehead lake, plenty of wildlife, and it is hard to beat the hot tub on cool nights. We can not wait to go back.

Had a great time! The house was in a great spot with lots of wild life around. Our dog was in heaven pretty much the whole time. We did a few hiking trips in places like lily bay. Overall place was awesome and Carol and her husband were great. Would recommend to anyone!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The house is everything you would expect from a Maine cabin. Beautiful woodwork, quiet and peaceful setting, view of Moosehead Lake. The hot tub on the deck was a fantastic bonus. This is the first time we have stayed at this cabin but we definitely hope to stay there again. Enjoy!

winter Wonderland

My husband and I rented this house for the winter and will be renting it again this winter. The house is located in a very nice quiet community, it is only about a 10 minute drive into town. Nice yard for kids or animals to play and the most amazing view. Plenty of room for a big family and lots of activities in the area to enjoy. My husband and I have been coming to the Moosehead lake region for 10 years and plan to continue to for many years.
